The press conference was a disaster, but at least it was over. We accomplished our goal in the end and the news had shifted it's focus from me to Liz, calling her a madwoman, I felt so relieved that now, people would stop calling me an abuser. My father wasted no time preparing divorce papers. His decision wasn’t up for debate, as usual.

Liz’s parents were surprisingly quick to sign the papers. They didn’t even hesitate. It was as if they had been waiting for this opportunity, a chance to sever the bond between our families. I couldn’t blame them.
