Two days later as my friend had promised, I and Ebony were dressed in black hoodies and black shades even when it was dark outside- it was 8 pm. The flight around this time was the only flight to California that was close by.

The both of us were in black sweatpants, dragging our suitcases behind us as we walked to the main road in search of a taxi. I felt happy, happy that I was finally going to get out of this hell hole of a place
