My mind was reeling as I tried to process the reality of seeing Liz at the hospital.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her.

The woman I had loved and lost was standing writing front of me and yet no hint of recognition in her eyes.

And it was obvious she wasn't faking it.

The feeling of being treated like a stranger felt like I had been punched in the guts.

It was almost as if my breath had been knocked out of me.

I couldn't understand why she couldn't remember me or why she stared at me with a blank expression.
