I slammed on the brakes, my heart racing with fear. I had almost crashed into a truck that was stopped in front of me. I took a deep breath, trying to calm down. That was close. Too close.

I pulled over to the side of the road, trying to collect my thoughts. I couldn't believe how absent-minded I had been. I was lucky to have avoided an accident.
