Madriod shifted nervously in his seat, his eyes avoiding Elsie's gaze. They were sitting in the living room, the tension between them palpable.
"Elsie, can I talk to you about something?" Madriod asked, his voice hesitant.
Elsie looked up from her book, her eyes curious. "Of course, what's on your mind?"
