Chapter 1 Stop Pretending!

Chapter 1 Stop Pretending!

"Click..."

The door was pushed open as a tall, lean man wearing a fitted dark suit, which complimented the masculine body underneath, and out of the front chest pocket, the corner of a white handkerchief peering out waiked in.

His dark eyes, which normally hold no emotions, scanned around looking for a particular someone.

"Son of a bitch!" A curse echoed from the opposite direction, where the kitchen was, followed by an object falling on the floor with clattering sounds.

Like a model catwalking in a runaway, the man strode forward, following the noises.

"Warren!" A shocked female voice rose when he walked into the kitchen. "What are you doing here?"

With an arrogant look on his face, Warren coldly responded, "This is my house; have you forgotten or do you also want to snatch it away?"

The woman, now used to Warren's sharp tongue, chuckled, then bent to continue picking the shards of glass on the floor.

It has been three years since she was married to Warren, and he has never stepped foot in their house, so it was normal for her to be surprised by his sudden visit.

Sighing, the woman squated on the floor to pick the shards and slid under the table, asking, "You really believe that I am a golddigger?"

A commoner like her got married to Warren, the CEO of Dream, the world's largest and richest company; thus, she was seen as a golddigger.

She didn't mind, though, since she always thought people were jealous of her because who wouldn't? But hearing her husband accuse her of being a golddigger time and time again hurt her.

"Are you not, Audra?" Warren's mocking voice rose, jarring her from her thoughts.

Answering that question wouldn't help anything. She knew if she did, they'd end up having a verbal argument, something she didn't want, so she chose to smile calmly and dodge the question.

The shards, now collected in a plastic dust pan, she carried to the trash bin just beside the door and disposed of them inside.

"What are you doing, Warren?" Panicking, Audra asked in a raised tone when she noticed Warren walking closer to her with a cold face.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" He asked, grabbed her by the waist, and roughly pushed her against the kitchen counter.

"Warren, you hurt me." Audra groaned, pressing her palm on her back. She felt a wave of tears threatening to trickle down her cheeks, but she bit her lower lip to stop herself from crying.

She refused to appear weak in front of the man who dumped her the same night they got married.

She had cried because of him for three years, but not anymore.

Warren, not even moved by Audra's painful expression, walked much closer to her and roughly turned her back to him.

He grabbed the front of his shirt, ripped it into pieces, and took off his trousers before ripping Audra's dress apart.

"What are you trying to do, Warren? Stop!" Audra wriggled herself from his grip, covering her front with her small hands.

It was unusual of Warren to behave that way.

"Stop? Why are you pretending, Audra? Is this not what you've always wanted?" He asked, tying her hands together with his tie.

"Let go of me, Warren. I don't want this." Audra begged, almost in tears.

Who said that was what she wanted?

All she wanted was for Warren to love her just like she did for him.

She wanted him to end her unrecruited love and not be raped!

"Stop lying, woman!" Warren yelled, dropping the hand he had lifted to slap her. "If you didn't want this, then why do you go around telling people I don't touch you? That I have never touched you?“

“I didn't…”

Before she could finish talking, a piece of Warren's tattered shirt was tied around her mouth, stopping her speech halfway, but that didn't stop her from refuting.

Minutes later, Audra grew tired of fighting when her efforts bore no fruit. She closed her eyes and decided to surrender to him.

Warren, seeing that Audra wasn't fighting anymore, continued with his business, ignoring her painful yelps and groans. When done with her, he retreated backwards, raised his trousers to his waist, and walked out of there.

Audra, who had now fallen to the floor, let out the tears she was holding. That was her first time; did he really have to do that to her?

After she was married to him, she always fantasized about how their first time would be, but it was nowhere near what she had wanted.

What Warren had done to her was an insult to her love.

He didn't even consider the fact that she had been in love with her for three years but treated her as a whore.

Even if she were truly a golddigger, like the way people often called her, did she deserve all that?

“What is it that I ever did to you to deserve all this, Warren? She asked herself, wriggling her hands to free herself from the tied tie around her wrists.

The tie was tightly wrapped around her, so she ended up injuring her wrists. A sharp cut formed around her, but she didn't bleed much. The bruises were, however, clear enough, and one could see them from a meter away from her.

Tiredly and still laying on the floor, she pulled away the piece of cloth around her mouth and exhaled deeply.

She could smell burning food but didn't have any energy to rise and turn the gas stove off. Audra had been craving fried chicken, and when her shift at the hospital ended, she quickly ran home to satisfy her cravings.

What she never expected was for her appetite to be ruined like that.

Thirty minutes later, a tall figure walked into the kitchen, looming above her. Audra struggled to raise her head, fighting the blurriness about to cover her eyes, and took the figure in.

It was Warren, and judging from how wet his hair looked, it seemed like he had taken a shower. He was wearing black sweatpants with no t-shirt.

Feeling a gaze on him, Warren gave her a disdainful look and then proceeded to sit at the dining table, where he started working on something on his laptop.

I should head upstairs and take a shower as well. Audra thought to herself, gripping the countertop for support as she struggled to stand.

The place between her legs hurt and felt like it was pushed on fire. A cold liquid was slowly trickling in between her legs, and when she reached for her hands to wipe it, she gasped when she saw it was blood.

That was expected, though, given that it was her first time.

Warren, who had heard the gasp and was now stairing at Audra, followed her finger with his eyes and saw the fresh blood at her fingertip.

A sharp pain, like a knife piercing through his heart, made his eyes water, recalling what he had just done to her.

How could she be a virgin? Three years ago, the night before their wedding, she had...

Nevermind! She deserves what you have done to her. Warren said to himself, pulling his gaze away from her and back to his laptop.

Audra, who had no idea that Warren's gaze was fixed on her, turned and limped out of the kitchen. When she grabbed the door knob to pull it open, Warren saw the bruise marks on her wrists.

They were red and swollen, and her lower lip was bleeding too, meaning she had bit herself.

Why are you sympathizing with her? She doesn't deserve your mercy. She is a bad person because if she wasn't, she wouldn't have...

“If you are going out, you better do it silently. You're footsteps are loud.“ He found himself yelling at her when his attempts to concentrate on his work failed.
