“ Get back here!” Yelled the attacker and dived at her with the athleticism of a cricket. Like a bag of flour, Amelia crashed to the floor with a loud thud. Helpless, bruised and malaise, she rolled on the ground in restlessness. Knowing what was to become of her existence if she didn’t react quickly, she merged the sides of her knees to conceal her triangle of womanhood.
“ Oh don’t bother.” He silvered, “ Clothes aren’t a necessity in hell.” He added and took out a dagger from the back pocket of his trousers.
“ Please don’t. I’ll pay you.” She cried out, after catching a fuzzy glimpse of her attacker as he dawned on towards her.
“ Help me!” She cried out at the top of her energy drained voice while she tardily reclined backwards.
“ You wear archaic clothing yet expect me to believe you have a million dollar stacked up in your name. How dumb do you think I am!” He fumed ; the notion of money having caused him to halt on his mission to kill.
“ In the basement of the cottage.” Amelia cried out, as she drew away from the dawning evil.
“ If you had money, you will have since bought your freedom from those corrupt legislators.” He hummed, gazing fiercely at her head.
“ I do sir. I do!” She pleaded in fright as he raised the dagger to his shoulder.
“ Thanks for the offer. The bounty on your head is just good enough. Tell your dad the Ghostcop has sent his regards.” He silvered and posed to leap towards her when a voice had pierced through the airwaves.
“ Amelia!” The voice called out again, causing the Ghostcop to turn towards the call.
“ Help!” She wailed out, with her gaze being stuck to the silver dagger.
“ Bastard!” “ How dare you lay hands on an unarmed lady!” Roared the voice from amidst the darkness that sent the Ghostcop into a Navigational dilemma. Within the split seconds of the call, the Ghostcop was quick to discern a dashing entity towards him, causing him to swipe his dagger in defense.
“ Argh! Bastard!” Yelled the owner of the voice after feeling the dagger doing damage to the scalp of his head. The impact hadn’t done much to break the momentum of his dive. He crashed against the Ghostcop, sending him crashing across the floor.
“ Arghh!” He groaned from the impact of the sore as he staggered up to defend any reprisal but found no one in sight.
“ Coward!” He shouted at the top of his voice as he heard the footstep of the Ghostcop growing faint in quick successions. Certain of the a fair level of tranquility, he turned his gaze towards Amelia who had curled at the corner with her torn gown wrapped around her waist. She had waited patiently for the dim rays to cast it’s light against the face of her unknown savior.
“ My goodness.” She gasped in shock after beholding the face of the fellow.
Too dazed to keep standing, he crashed to the floor like a lumbered oak , causing Amelia to rush to his side.
“ Gallagher are you Okay? “ She whispered and stretched her trembling hands forward as if not sure of making contact with his bleeding scalp. He wasn’t without movement yet minimal in locomotion as he gazed tiredly to the heaven, while his face was smeared in blood.
“ Don’t touch me witch!” Gallagher bellowed, causing her to quickly retract her hands in fright.
“ I will have let that looser skewer you only if he had asked like a gentleman.” Mumbled Gallagher and sprang to his feet with much ferocity, causing Amelia to disembark in fright.
“ Thank you.” She stuttered, and slowly began to back away from Gallagher whose presence she viewed as a new threat to her life.
“ Not so fast wench!” He fumed and slowly turned towards her.
“ You and I have a score to settle. Try to run and I shall make a paste from your head.” He added as he ambled towards her in majesty.
With eyes glittering like those of a sullen feline. She halted in fright, her limbs trembling as he dawned on her with an unexplainable gaze.
“ What have I done this time?” She whispered amidst her tense breathing while she stood rooted to the floor in fear, trying in futility to predict the outcome of his approach.
“ An abominable thing.” “ A very abominable thing.” He intoned.
“ Can everyone just leave me alone.” She sobbed out and slowly began to step backward.
“ Wouldn’t you have been dead if I let you be? Defiled and murdered!” Gallagher fumed as he gained on her.
“ A befitting end for a lying urchin like you.” He added.
“ What did I do?” She stuttered and began to move backwards as she weighed on her options.
“ Get back here!” He bellowed, leapt forward, and seized her by the Neck causing her to scream in fright.
“ Why did you lie to me!” He queried, causing her to place her life before her modesty and let go of the shredded clothing that covered her loins. She tried to ungrasp his choking clamp over her throat but felt powerless to do so.
“ He swore to kill me!” She coughed out.
“ Where is the beast!” He yelled out and shoved her to the floor.
“ He was going to…” She panted, pausing only to inhale a surge of air “ He was going to kill me if I said a thing.” She cried out.
“ Liar! You gave him solace. You hid him from me! “ Gallagher fumed and pulled out an old colt pistol from his jean pocket. His forehead was glossy from a mixture of blood and sweat. The better portion of his Beard was soaked in blood, owing to the incision from the dagger.
“ I had to act on his orders. ” She wailed, as she crawled away from him.
“ Where is He! Speak or I shall blow your brains.” He bellowed as he dawned on her with a face full of stern.
