As I walked in the door, Maria greeted me with a smile. 

"Mr Nathan sir, she's awake," she said, her eyes shining with excitement.

I quickly hurried to my room hoping to see her there but she was nowhere to be found.

"Where exactly is she...?"

Maria gestured down the corridor, her hand waving gracefully. "She's in the guest room, Mr Nathan sir."

I frowned, my brow furrowing in surprise. I had left her in my room that morning, surrounded by the comforting familiarity of my own space.
