I paced back and forth in my room, my mind racing with thoughts of Aurora. 

The soft glow of the moon outside cast eerie shadows on the walls, reflecting the turmoil within me. 

James's latest update still lingered in my mind, echoing with every step I took.

"Alpha, I've tracked her to the Silvermoon pack's territory, but I lost her scent," James had said through the mind link, his voice laced with frustration. 

"I'll keep searching, but it's like she vanished into thin air."

I clenched my fists, feeling the familiar surge of frustration and guilt. 

Why couldn't James find her? Was she hiding? Has she moved on?
