Back to the present.

Monica.

An angel might come in many forms or ways that we don't even realize. They help us in different ways that we have no idea that they are even there for us. Each one of us has a guardian angel that we don't know about.

"There are the specials," She said trying to list them down while Abby wasn't even listening to her. Damn this girl is savage, she didn't care who she is bullying.

"Just get us two veggie burgers with no pickles and iced water", She told her.

"Okay, it will take about 15 mins", She replied to Abby walking away.

"You are still the same Abby, you still haven't forgiven her yet, don't you think it's enough", I told her.

"It's been almost 3 years, damn girl you hold a grudge."

"You would be the same if it were you, You are hang up on Aiden," She pointed at me.

We talked about different stuff after that, waiting for our food.

When it arrived exactly 15 mins. But knowing us, we decided to have some fun.

"Ops", I got up and 'accidentally' knocked the iced water on Adriana's clothes.

"I am going to get you another water, excuse me," she said rushing towards the back.

We had no idea that Anna Maria's mom Mariana was watching us as we laughed our heads off at Adriana.

"That was hilarious," Said Abby.

This time, someone else brought us the food and drinks we ordered.

Another day, another uneventful shift. Yeah, I shouldn't have said that.

We arrived just in time for my shift, we walked into the diner. "My babies, I missed you so much", Said MommaBear(Mariana likes being called that) to me and Leyla.

"What about me momma?", asked Anna Maria.

"I see you every day at home", She said while laughing."

Thanks, momma", replied Anna Maria laughing.

Mariana and my and Leyla's parents knew each other since they were in college and that's how they became best friends. She knew me as a child and she knows what's going on at home.

But I made her promise not to let my dad know as he is not always there.

When my mom Jasmine died, she made Mariana promise to take care of me. And that she did, she is a momma to me." Take a seat my dears, and eat some food I cooked for you to eat" she said to us while going into the kitchen.

"More like she experimented on some food", murmured Anna maria while keeping herself from laughing.

"Come on, Anna you know she means well at what she does," I told her.

"At least she cares Anna", said Leyla. "Crap, I didn't mean it that way, Adriana" she explained.

"It's okay, don't worry I understand", I said smiling.

While enjoying the 'experimental food' as Anna called it. Which was delicious.

It wasn't experimental, she followed a recipe from a magazine on different types of hot dogs. Food below.

Looking up from the table we were seated at, I saw Monica with Abigail approaching the table.

I saw how Anna Maria's face turned red with anger, I quickly squeezed her hand signaling ' it's okay.'

"Can we get some service here? asked Monica.

One of the waitresses on shift tried to attend to them, but they sat on my side of the diner. The side I usually serve.

"It's okay, I got this, you can go", I told Marsha and I continued heading towards the booth. They asked what we served in the diner.

I started by listing the special. But none of them were even listening. "Just get us two veggie burgers with no pickles and iced water", Abigail said.

"Okay, it will take about 15 mins", I told them. I took their orders to the chef.

"Hey, Simon, get me two veggies burgers with no pickles please, and thank you", I told him.

"Sure, Adriana".

"Hey, are you sure you can handle them?" Asked Marsha worriedly.

"It's not a big deal, Mars, don't worry about it," I explained to her.

"Alright, if there's any problem, come to me", she said. Marsha was more like my older sister than my coworker in the diner.

She is a few years older than me, still saving up for college. She goes to night accounting classes.

Plus momma bear trusts her with running the diner when she isn't around.

15mins later, Simon called me, to say that the orders are out already. I took the ice water first to the table, Monica stood up, and the freezing water poured onto my clothes.

"Oops, sorry didn't see you there", she said while Abigail was laughing at me.

"I am going to get you another water, excuse me," I said rushing towards the back.

But as soon as momma saw me, she shook her head worried about me.

I smiled at her saying" It's okay momma, am fine I promise" I assured her.

"Are you sure Adriana, or do you want me to kick them out of my diner?", she asked hoping that I would say yes.

She has been trying to kick them out for a very long time. Each time, I stop her or even Papa Bear tries to. (Papa Bears' name is Troy).

" I am 100% sure am fine momma, don't worry, I will be okay", I said.

I thanked my stars because Leyla and Anna Maria weren't there if they were it would have been war. And I would rather not have that especially here in the diner.

She smiled and told me to go change, I was freezing. After I changed then I went back to work.

Each time, they would purposely trip me. I accidentally slipped while I was carrying a tray of food and drinks. They fell on a businessman's suit.

"What the hell?", shouted the businessman at me. "I am s.. sorry sir, I didn't mean i..it ", I told him while shaking.

"I don't have time for your sorry because you didn't do it on purpose, what I need is for them to apologize to me and not you", He said while looking at Abigail and Monica smirking at me.

What I didn't know was that this man is my long-lost cousin, Who showed up because momma bear thought I needed help and she was always right like always.

I didn't know that he was wearing stage makeup and a borrowed suit. Back to the conversation.

"Well, aren't you going to apologize to me and her for your childish behavior, because what you girls are doing is what a child would do," said the business guy.

Abigail and Monica's faces were turning red with anger and disappointment that can be seen in their faces.

"We are sorry, Adriana" Apologized Abigail while Monica stared at me with a look saying I will get you a later look.

"It's okay, no problem," I said without wanting problems with anyone else.

I walked away but he holds my hand and moves us to the back, heading to the office. I looked behind me and I saw Monica smirking as if she knows that I might be in trouble.

Great just great. But I can't be fired by momma Bear because she knows that I need this job.
