CHAPTER 24: GRUMPY

Adrian’s POV

I frowned as I listen to what Lily was saying. I am curious about what they were talking about on the phone after hearing the words’ childhood sweetheart’. My heart raced again.

“That’s impossible,” Lily said. “If I am his childhood sweetheart I doubt she’ll accept me because I already have a child and married.”

My grip on the stirring wheel tightened on what I heard. I am not a narrow-minded person. A few moments later, Lily lowered her phone and looked at me with a smile. I felt the warmth inside my chest. I looked away and focused on my driving.
