"Listen, Alli."
I stopped getting the chips that were in front of me when Gon disobeyed me. We are in my room and he is telling the truth about your teaching me in Accounting. So now, I lay down on the bed while he pulled out the swivel chair that was on my computer and sat there instead of on my bed.
I looked at the A4 he made from scratch to put there sample problems I had to solve.
"Whatʼs your question?" I asked with a frown.
He sighed. "You're not listening because. I'm asking you if you do know the Nature and Aims of Business, it's good because I'll teach you from the beginning so that when it comes to how to get the interests, discounts as well as balancing, you won't be confused," he said. the eyebrow he repeated at the question.
I pouted and sat down on my bed with fallen shoulders. "I-I'm having a hard time, Gon. I-I feel like I'm wasting my tuition because ... everytime there's something to teach? I quickly forget," I confessed. "Actually, even though I'm in college? I can't help but copy." I confessed.
He stared at me. "Accounting is basic. You just have to understand the technique." he coldly remarked.
I want to laugh. I don't know what to say or how to react because Accounting is said to be basic to his perception. Where is his school and is he in a hurry?
I shook my head a bit and smiled scarcely. "Whether it's easy or with technique, if you don't bet --- nonsense! It's not so nice to strive when you don't like what you're doing." there is a tinge of bitterness in the voice I say. "... but for my parents, I'll do it. Even super hard on my part. And even if other UP people think I'm ... stupid. Because I can't understand simple things." I continued with a sigh. "Let's continue studying, Gon. You're not just a bodyguard, you're also a tutor."
He just stared at me coldly.
When can you smile?
He handed me the laptop. "Letʼs start having an overview about the Philippine Economy. Since you're into business, let me ask you about it," he said. "Do you know or do you have any prior knowledge about PE?" he asked seriously.
I nodded as I smiled a bit. "As far as I can remember ... The Philippine Economy has low productivity in the workplace, graft and corruption in the government. Another, the declining value of the peso and an unfavorable balance of trade are just some of the more serious concerns affecting it . " my answer.
She grinned. "Why do you think that dreaming for affluence canʼt be attained by most of the Filipinos?" he asked again.
I wonder why he knows anything about it. Why does he have knowledge of what I'm studying --- he's a bodyguard, isn't he? Well, he obviously has a brain, just at first glance. In addition, the highly educated also cry based on actions.
... e, why choose to be a bodyguard?
"Tsk. You're floating again, Alli. Are you like that inside every time your professor discusses, huh?" he asked, a little annoyed.
I composed myself. "Ahm, because the Philippine economy has always been saddled with difficulties which appeared to be insurmountable." I answered and smiled hard. "Is that right?"
He snarled. "Tsk, tsk. Right. So donʼt degrade yourself too much. Look, you can answer. You know something." he said. "And not because youʼre suck at one thing, youʼre suck at everything." his meaningful language.
I stared at him. Because he is really handsome. Seriously!
He presented the laptop to him again and typed there. "Always remember, it's not because you can't do what others can, you're stupid and stupid. Plant in your mind that everyone has their own forte." he continued his witty saying.
I prevented myself from smiling widely. "Why do you know about all these things pala, Gon? And ---"
I didn’t finish what I was going to ask because of his sudden speech, still, eyes focused on the laptop. "Never ask something about me, Alli. What I show, just believe. Let's continue studying. We have a quiz tomorrow," he said seriously.
I winced. "You're secretive, Gon." I commented and grabbed the chips again before gently chewing. "What is it — teach me today, by the way?"
He showed me the laptop again. I read some of the questions there with a wrinkled forehead really because of the explanations!
"What is business?" None of my own, I questioned.
"Yes. You should know that. You can't go to war without bullets, Alli."
There I turned to Gon. "W-What are you saying? What war? Goodness, Gon ... Iʼm am soon to be a businesswoman! I donʼt have plans to enter the military," I replied, with a knitted forehead.
He facepalmed. "Fuck," he cussed.
I pouted. "Donʼt mura me. Iʼm just telling the truth here,"
He looked at me, as if lack of patience. "T-Thatʼs not what I mean, fuck it!" he implied. "Damn. Canʼt you distinguish between metaphorical sayings and explicit ones ?!" timping aniya.
I pouted and scratched my nape. "Hey, what?" hiyang tanong ko.
He huffed. "Hah. What I mean is --- you can't continue studying your course if you have even a little idea, you know nothing. That, Alli. That's what I mean. Damn," he explained and shook his head a bit, out of disbelief.
I nodded. "I-I'm sorry ... just stupid ---"
He held my hand, causing me to stop talking. "Stop calling yourself stupid. Nobody's stupid. Stupid, it's okay. You're a bit stupid but you're not stupid, alright?
I don’t know if I will be insulted or pleased because he said, e. He said I wasn’t stupid but he said I was stupid!
So not me!
I noticed he hadn't removed his hand from mine yet so I looked at it for a moment. It was only then that I realized he had a tattoo on his wrist.
It's just LG and marked using black ink.
"LG? You mean ... La Galliene, Gon?" I suddenly asked, and lifted my gaze back at him.
He removed his hand holding my hand and looked at me coldly before leaning back in the swivel chair. "I told you earlier ... never ask something about me." he recalled, with a hint of warning in his voice.
I breathe coolly. "Sorry! You're very serious, goodness. Come on, let's study." I'll just babysit again.
He asked me again about the definition of business and I answered it again, correctly. And I’ll admit I pretty much understand what we’re studying.
Until he asked about the kinds of business. To clear things out, the coverage of our long quiz is about what he is teaching me today. Next week is an exam about Accounting so we can study more in the next nights. And because it is forbidden to fall there, we are given the opportunity to study.
"Business may be classified in several ways. But I just gotta ask you ... what are the three main divisions as to the nature of the principal activity?"
I yawned. "Commerce. Industry and Services, right?" I answered vaguely and yawned again.
We have been studying for about three hours and fortunately we have 8 more classes tomorrow.
He nodded and closed the laptop. "You don't know you know the lessons, Alli. But trust me, you know something. It's just that ... you don't really want to study because you don't want to. Tsk." aniya.
Instead of answering him I just nodded shallowly before lying down neatly on my bed. "I'm asleep. Thanks for teaching, Gon." I said and closed my eyes.
I heard him cussed. "Damn, sleepy head. You make sure you can pass tomorrow!" He reminded me.
I pursed my lips. "When I'm mentally blocked, just copy your answer." I said with a sleepy voice.
I could feel him picking up the ones we used in the study. "Not papa-copied." he replied coldly.
Even though I was drowsy, I forced myself to open my eyes to look at him. "We're seatmates. You answer, I answer too. Teamwork!" I said.
He smirked at me. "I do not want,"
I pouted and just closed my eyes again. "Edi let me crash the quiz tomorrow," I answered without hesitation and wrapped the body in the comforter. "It's okay because I'm not that smart and no one will regret getting low scores."
I could feel Gon's footsteps going away. It looks like he's out of my room. But before he finally left my room he uttered words that caused me to smile secretly.
"High score isnʼt the measurement of intelligence. Attitude is. Goodnight, young lady."
