THE FINAL COURT DECISION

A heavy silence fell over the courtroom as all stood while the judge walked to her seat. Natasha felt cold, her heart racing and then sinking weakly as she sat beside her lawyer, her fingers tightly clenched in her lap.

Adrian sat in the row next to Natasha's, his eyes fixed on the judge without a trace of emotion. When he turned, his gaze briefly met Natasha's.
