A LIFE SHE NEVER PLANNED
Ms. Elizabeth didn't look up from her desk at all; instead, she continued to open some files on the table, as if the words she just spoke were normal words for daily human consumption.
Flora's grip on her bag tightened. "I don't think the company needs your services anymore." The words continued to replay in her head like some unforgettable ceremonial lines of an event. Her lips parted open, as if she wanted to talk, but no word was forthcoming.
Just like that.
She's no longer needed.
