While Hazel was lost in a daze, she didn’t realize that Albert had noticed her existence until she heard the heavy footsteps near her and looked up just to see Albert rushing inside to inform Betty and Michael about Hazel’s escape.
She then hurriedly wore the pants and rushed to open the gate wide. After sitting on her bike, in a flash, she disappeared from Michael's villa but behind she could hear the loud cursing of her father, and ignoring them she sped up.
VROOM … VROOM …
After exiting the area, Hazel realized that she has nowhere to go and neither any money to survive. For the time, she drove blankly until she decided to go to the only place she always belonged to.
The Racing Spot.
When Hazel reached the racing spot with the hope to participate in any race and then earn a little bit of money to survive this lonely night she got stunned when she found no one at all.
Disappointed, she turned her bike and rode away from the spot, and unfortunately at one point, her bike stopped showing signs of low fuel.
Hazel sighed with a bitter heart as she had no choice but to walk by dragging her bike with her.
This isn’t the first time that something unfortunate has happened to her as her life has been filled with many unfortunate events but she would always find a way to stay happy and never get affected by them.
But, as tonight she looked upon herself she realized how pathetic her life has become. She literally has no place which she could confidently call her Home.
Her mother left the world and took away all the happiness of her life too.
The night was cold and dark, Hazel, who was wearing a sleeveless dress couldn’t help but shiver from the coldness of the weather but still stubbornly she kept dragging her motorbike until she would reach a place where she could be safe.
She thanked her granny in her heart as she wisely handed her the pants otherwise her legs would start to shake far before.
After walking for a long time, Hazel felt deeply exhausted and decided to rest for a while.
She pulled her motorbike to the side and then sat down on the ground carelessly. A few cars passed by her but she didn’t ask for help as she knew that this help could get her into great trouble until a car stopped and Hazel’s hair stood in panic.
Without even looking at the person, Hazel immediately stood up and started dragging her bike away hoping whoever had stopped the car would go away on his own or otherwise she needed to think of something that would force him to leave in an instant.
“Hazel…” A growl made her stop not because it was loud but because it was familiar to her.
She turned in doubt and then exclaimed, “You.”
“Come, we are leaving, right now,” Bennett ordered in a firm voice, his clothes still the same from the event. His coat has been taken off but his white shirt still showed the stains of Hazel’s handprint on it.
His hair looked unkempt at the moment as though he had been running his hands in them continuously. His face was also haggard. From his appearance, no one could mention him as a man of the event who just got engaged last night.
His gaze stayed firm on Hazel and without waiting for her response, he walked to his car and opened the door wide for her but how could Hazel become obedient in one night? Never.
Hazel stubbornly kept on walking and a heavy curse sounded in the air.
After a moment, Hazel’s arm was grabbed in a tight grip and she frowned badly from the pain.
“Why don’t you listen?” Bennett questioned looking frustrated from her disobedient and rebellious behavior.
“Why should I?” Hazel asked back.
“I told you, I haven’t told Sandy anything about your helmet.” Bennett tried to explain and Hazel scoffed in response not believing a single word that came out of his mouth.
“Hazel, it’s too late. Come with me and then we’ll talk about it.” He told her but she kept shaking her head in refusal.
“What do you want, Hazel?” Bennett questioned as he started to lose his patience.
“Petrol,” Hazel replied and Bennett looked at her, puzzled.
“I am out of petrol, I need petrol.” She told him as her eyes made a gesture towards her motorbike.
Bennett sighed feeling helpless, “Fine.” And then he walked back to his car.
Hazel thought that he was going to leave her as she again started to drag her motorbike and continued walking but after a while, her hands were covered in a warm embrace when Bennett took away the hold of the motorbike from her and then handed her his coat.
“It’s cold.” He told her meaningfully and nodding her head she wore it quickly, it was indeed a cold night.
“Does anyone know that you are here?” Hazel asked hesitantly.
“You mean, your father or Sandy?” Bennett asked and Hazel nodded her head.
“No, nobody knows.” He replied and Hazel sighed in relief.
“You shouldn’t have left the home like this, Hazel,” Bennett complained in a low voice.
“I had no choice,” Hazel replied with a bitter heart.
Home, that home never belonged to her.
“Huh… You know it’s dangerous roaming alone at night.” Bennett said with a hint of worry in his tone.
“It’s also dangerous to stay with a furious father, who is desperate to beat you up,” Hazel murmured defensively.
“I was there to protect you.” Bennett blurted out and Hazel rolled her eyes at him.
Protection from my stepsister's fiancé, Hazel thought in mock.
