Chapter 4 Injuries

Chapter 4 Injuries

"Ready"

"Steady"

"GO"

A flag was raised giving the riders a signal to start the race. There were seven riders in total, 4 boys and 3 girls. Everyone was wearing a helmet except Hazel. When they left their mark only white smoke surrounded the people but still they kept on cheering.

There were four stages to pass the level, the first stage had bumpy roads, the second stage had tires on flames, the third stage had multiple speed breakers and the fourth one had a huge smoke and a finishing line.

This race isn't about speed but survival.

Whoever made it to the last would win, with no time limit at all.

The bikers started the race at a heavy speed and immediately crashed on the bumpy road while Hazel rode the bike carefully at the bumpy place, she and 4 other people survived the bumpy road.

In the next stage, they entered the flames tire place where flame tires kept rolling around the round and they needed to go through it in a zig-zag way. While passing that road, Hazel felt a hard hit on her leg and as she looked up it was Randy smirking at her.

Hazel immediately pulled the brake and Randy went away from her sight immediately, she then hurriedly passed the second stage but when she reached the third stage she saw Randy kicking away other bikers brutally which means her bones are also going to break tonight.

Still, with no fear but determination, she started completing the third stage and when she finally entered the last stage she realized it was only her against Randy.

The whistleblower was in the back and instead of going straight, Randy rode straight towards her hitting her brutally with his bike. Hazel fell heavily from the bike and soon the smoke filled the place making her momentarily blind.

She stood up to look for her bike and just then a heavy blow landed on her face.

BOOM

She fell again to the ground, feeling dizzy from the blow, she didn't have a helmet and she was at a full disadvantage. One thing is for sure, Randy is not here to win but to beat her to death.

She very cleverly understood his intention at the very first blow and instead of fighting with him with a hot mind, she decided to stay calm and think about the possibility of her escaping from him.

She lowered herself to the ground and she could see Randy's foot and also the tires of her bike.

But she needed a distraction, something. She keeps thinking as the steps get closer to her.

Finally, her brain ticked and she kicked Randy's foot out of a sudden, he groaned and she stood up and then jumped as she kicked him straight in the chest and then took away his helmet.

She thrashed his helmet hard on his face and he fell heavily to the ground.

THUMP

Hazel wore the helmet and then ran to her bike taking this opportunity, it would take a moment for Randy to get his senses back. She accelerated her bike and rode straight to the finish line.

There was silence and people were desperately waiting for the winner to arrive, when the bike entered the finish line and people saw the helmet, they realized that it was Randy who won the race which means Hazel lost.

Jake, who was going to announce the winner, felt bitter as he started to take the slow steps toward the winner with a bundle of notes in his hands as prize money.

The smoke started to fade and then only a man's face showed clearly, slightly bruised and swollen, even a bleeding nose, it was Randy.

Jake looked at Randy and then at the biker with the helmet, he understood who won the race and just then Hazel pulled out the helmet and showed her face. The whole place started chanting Hazel's name in appreciation.

"Hazel"

"Hazel"

"Hazel"

Jake happily raised Hazel's arm and announced the winner proudly. He then handed her the money and taking that money Hazel turned to the injured Randy.

"No hard feelings." She raised her hand in peace and Randy nodded his head.

She bent down so that she would come on his level as he was sitting on the chair now.

"Listen, you keep all this money for your treatment and everything. I know I had put you at a loss. So, my apologies." She said sincerely.

Randy looked at her shocked, he could see the bruises on her face made by his blow.

He took the money and then asked straightly, "What do you want?"

"Peace and this helmet," Hazel told him and he let out a laugh.

Hahahaha

"It's yours, Hazel. You deserved it." He said and then patted her shoulder in appreciation.

Hazel nodded at him respectfully and then with a bruised face and empty-handed she returned to her home. She switched off the bike and then pushed it a mile toward her home.

She entered secretly and she was feeling so painful that she gave up the idea of climbing the rope.

She tried to open all the doors and thankfully the back door opened. She entered on her tiptoes and meeting with utter silence, she decided to go to the kitchen, and hunt for some food and an ice pack.

She entered the kitchen and then slowly switched the light on.

BOOM

She got a minor heart attack when she saw a person already standing in the kitchen.

"Hey, Hazel."

Bennett greeted her with his charming smile and Hazel held her helmet tightly in response. "What the hell are you doing here?" She asked, clearly displeased by his presence.

"Same for you, What are you doing with this?" He asked, his eyes narrowing at the helmet that has a big "R" letter engraved on it.

Hazel didn't bother to answer him as she walked to the fridge and took out a plate of cold food to eat without bothering to warm the food she started eating it as it was.

Bennett looked at her with playful eyes and his eyes suddenly darkened when she pulled back the strand of her hair and her bruises got visible under his gaze.

"F**k... What happened to you? Who hit you? Did you fight with someone?" He asked while holding her face and inspecting the bruises.

One at her right cheek, slight swelling on her lips, and under her right eye, he pulled her head up and could see the frozen blood inside her nose. Frowning he walked back and took out the ice pack from the fridge and pressed it on her nose, first.

"F**k you, I am eating." Hazel groaned in a low voice and Bennett gave him a dark look.

"What are you staring at, huh?" She asked while staring back straight into his eyes, Does he think he could intimidate her with his dark eyes?

"Ice your face." He said plainly, ignoring her question.

Hazel took the ice bag from his hand rudely and then pressed it on her cheek. Instead of leaving, Bennett took a seat beside her and started watching her intently.

"What? If you're doing this so that I won't tell my father that you were drinking Sandy's milk. So don't worry, I won't tell him anything." Hazel spoke calmly and Bennett's gaze didn't move for a slight moment from her face.

"What?" Hazel asked, irritated.

"You are very outspoken." He concluded and Hazel shrugged from his statement as she corrected him.

"I am truthful and a genuine person, Sir..." She stopped because she didn't know his name at all.

Hearing her words, Bennett couldn't help but let out a low chuckle.

"haha, Truthful and Genuine?" He said in mocking.

Feeling offensive, Hazel stood up and then stomped her feet.

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes, sprinting out the kitchen when his voice again stopped her, "Hazel."

She turned hoping that he would apologize but Nah, instead he pointed at her helmet. Hazel walked towards him and then picked up her helmet but just as she touched the helmet he held her hand out of blue and then pulled her closer to him.

"Won't you offer me something?" He asked in a deep seductive voice.

"What?" Hazel asked with a blank mind.

"The milk..." He said as he looked down at her meaningfully and feeling outrage Hazel pushed him with all her strength.

Bennett didn't expect her to push him so hard as he staggered back and fell heavily.

BOOM
