Chapter 43

Talia came out of the shower already dressed, her hair was still damp, and Damon stiffened from her scent.

Hart was toiling around inside him again, but this time he shut it down, keeping his eyes focused on the book he was holding. 

He watched as Talia went straight to her bag. She opened it and froze, then she started searching frantically, a frown on her face. 

Damon didn’t miss the way her hands moved around the bag or the unmistakable look of panic in Talia’s eyes even though she was trying to hide it.

"Looking for something?" he asked.

"No," Talia said quickly. 

But she kept searching....
