Derek was at the training clearing with Talia. He was teaching her some defensive moves and she was focused as she threw punches in the air.  

The sun filtered through the trees, but it couldn’t compare to the warmth he felt when looking at Talia. 

Derek nodded in approval at her kick. "Your form is getting better."

Sage turned and smiled. That soft smile that made Derek's chest feel weird. "Thanks to you."

He didn’t know what pushed him but he reached out to push the hair away from her face. His hand lingered on her cheek but Talia didn't pull away.
