Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Summer's POV

My first class just drove me crazy. A lot of school works was given to us. It's just the first day for God's sake. I am walking in this long hallway again when I saw two guys walking down the hall and the girls are losing it as they walk past them. The other one is blue eyed and blonde, while the other guy has his hair dyed in bright red and his eyes are green. I stepped back at the side as they approach my direction. I looked at them as they walk past me, the red haired guy saw me looking at them and he smiled at me, that made me smile too and my pissed off mood was washed away. What an adorable smile.

I continued walking down the hall to look for my next room. God, this university is bigger than I thought. I reached the stairs and leaned against the wood railings to breathe, I'm tired of walking and I am probably late for my next class. I've decided to head at the cafeteria to grab some snack, I know it's too early for this but I am annoyed to go the next class, where the fuck is that room anyway? I know skipping class in the first day is not right, but that stupid missing room made me.

"Someone looks pissed off." A voice said. I lifted my head up and saw the guy that I bumped into earlier.

"What do you want?" I ask as I grip at my soda can. He sits at the chair across me.

He just smiled at me. His brown eyes met mine I almost get lost. Why am I even thinking about eye colors today?

"What?" I asked him because I heard him talking, I'm just not paying attention.

He laughed a little. "I said, my name is Calum Wayland."

"Oh. I'm Summer, Summer Urmeneta."

"Nice name, Summer." The way he said my name gave me chill in my spine. I like the way how he dropped my name. Suddenly, I bit my lower lip out of nowhere.

"That's hot." He smirks, his eyes are on my lips as I bit them.

My heart started to race and I have no idea why. I just wish that he would stop looking at me, then I wish that he would just look at me. Half wishing? God I'm crazy. Whatever happened to this day?

"Would you like to come with me to dinner?" He ask, he is confident.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow.

"You heard me. I don't like repeating things."

"I don't even know you."

"I just told you my name. Isn't that enough?" He sarcastically answered back.

"Whatever, Calum Wayland. I am not coming with you." I squint then I stand up and walk away.

"I'll see you at the parking lot later, Summer!" He shouted at the middle of the cafeteria as I walk away. I don't know why, but my lips formed a little smile without my permission.

As I walk, I think of his name. Mostly his surname, Wayland. I'm sure I heard that surname before somewhere. I went into the library to take some notes from other books. Will he really wait for me at the parking lot later? Or is he just playing with me? Should I check it out or what? Reality hits me back when a guy sat across me, he is the blue eyed guys that I saw earlier. He looked at me with a blank face, I gave a little smile but he didn't return it, instead, he took his sight back in the book he's reading. How rude can the people be in this school? I sighed as I close the book and walk away, again. Why am I such a walk away queen today? Walking away from everyone I don't even know.

I am walking with my head down then I bumped into someone, again.

"Sorry." We both said at the same time as he grips into my shoulder to keep my balance. I lifted my gaze up and saw the red haired guy again.

"Hey, it's you." His tone is happy and surprise.

"Hey." I shyly said.

"Sorry for bumping into you. I wasn't looking."

"My fault too, I'm walking with my head down that's why I didn't see you."

He is so polite. Unlike that blonde dude.

"Are you okay?" He asks, taking me back to the world.

I nod my head yes.

"Okay, have a great day. And be careful." He said before walking away with a smile.

Atleast someone in this school is kind. Too bad I forgot to ask his name. I pulled my class card out from my back pocket to see my next schedule. Okay, so I have a vacant for 3hrs. Oh My God, what am I suppose to do with that 3hrs? Ugh. I headed out at the school field where you can freely sit on the grass, I grabbed my iPod out and listened to music as I read my book.

Calum's POV

Looking at her from afar makes me feel weird. Why am I even looking at her? Well, she's pretty. I like the way how her hair falls to her shoulders. Her petite body is fucking hot and I like it. Sorry for being a bit of a pervert, but hey, she's hot.

"What are you looking at?" A voice said as I feel a pat on my shoulder. I turn to see who it is. It's Luke, standing behind me and looking at the direction I'm looking at.

"Nothing." I answer as I look back at her.

"Whatever." He mumbled.

"Where is Ashton and Michael?"

"I don't know. Is your class over?"

"No. I didn't go into any class today. Maybe on the next days I will."

"Why are you even here then?"

"Stop annoying me, Luke." He's getting on my nerves.

In the four of us, Luke is who we think is the most serious and responsible in the things we do, and being serious in school proves it. Luke is a smart guy, he really is, he plans most of the things we do, he may not be the leader but we look up to him when it comes to the plans, he never fails. He has this serious and snobbish outside, but he is really kind and fun. Just like the normal kids are, but we really don't consider ourselves as normal kids, cause we are not and we'll never be, we are just in a facade of pretending.

"I'll go ahead. My class is over." Luke says then he starts to walk away, not waiting for me to answer.

I looked at Summer again and she is still there, what an angel. When the sun ray hits her hair and shine in her face, that's when I lost it. I want her, I will get her and she'll be mine. I turned my back and headed to the parking lot. I looked around to see that Luke's Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse and Michael's Koenigsegg Agera S are not in the lot anymore. It's just my car and Ashton's Hennessey Venom GT. Yeah, our cars are pretty expensive and all of them brand new and limited edition. One of some reasons why we are school famous is our cars. I leaned at my car and looked at the tree that is shading our cars. I am hoping that Summer would show up later, or should I use my bad side for that? But I don't wanna scare her, how do you even get girls to like you? How did my brothers got their girlfriends while I don't have my own?

I focused a lot in our mafia, to build it strong and unbreakable, and we succeeded on doing that, our family is one of the strongest mafia and I am pretty proud of it. My dad helped us out, but among the four of us, I am the one who put my ass on it, because I really like the concept of it. My brothers like it too, don't get me wrong. We did our parts for this mafia, and we are proud of it, plus, we are the youngest members of the mafia society.

My thoughts fall when my phone buzzed.

"Yeah, Ash?"

"Where are you, Cal?"

"In the parking lot. Why?"

"Back me up. I'm outside school, some gangs are following me."

I ended the call and tracked where Ashton is. Isn't it too early for a fight yet? I ran into an alley near NYU and found him throwing punches and kicks against six guys. That's not fair, yeah, Ashton is strong but six against one is too much. Our world is really small because we are quite known by everyone in the underground society.

"Hey!" I shouted then I started running up to Ashton.

The guys stepped back then I picked Ashton by his arm. The corner of his mouth is bleeding.

"What the fuck!" I shouted as I glare at each of them.

"Look who's here, another Hood." The buff guy in a black fitted shirt taunted as he glares at me then at Ashton then back at me. Gang fights aren't really Ashton's thing.

"What the fuck do you want, Jay?" I ask, my temper is melting fast. I could punch him any second now, I am just holding it back as I clench my fist and grit through my jaw. He's making my blood rush and boil by just looking at me. He is just annoying as fuck, and I am more annoyed that he touched my brother. If he wants a fight, he can just call me. I am not saying that Ashton is weak or not capable of fighting, he is strong as fuck but this isn't really his thing. Not unless it's necessary to kick some asses down.

Jay shook his head as he smirks. That's it, I threw a punch and it landed perfectly on his jaw causing him to fall back. "Stay the fuck away from my brother." I coldly tell him as I glare down at him.

"Calum!" Ashton shouted, I turned around and fist hit on my cheek causing me to step back and trip a little.

"Dammit." I muttered under my breath as I rub my hit jaw with my thumb.

I took a deep breath before straightening my stand. I looked at Ashton and nods at him. In second, punches and kickings are all over the place. It's me versus three guys then Ashton against other three. Honestly, I missed fighting, but I didn't expect to have one on the first day of school. I've been hit a lot but the pain is bearable. When I got the chance, I pulled out the pocket knife from the side of my Converse high cut sneakers and pointed it to them. They stepped back.

"You don't fight fair, Hood." The white guy told me.

"Of course I don't. Who does?" I taunted.

"We're not yet over." Jay taunted.

"We're done. Get over it." I rolled my eyes, he's annoying me again. "Let's go, Ashton."

Ashton and I walked away and headed back to NYU with bleeding bruises. We headed straight at the parking lot to get some first aid kit from our cars, yeah, we keep some there in case of emergencies like this.

"My back hurts." Ashton complains as he put some band aids on his bruises in his upper brow and lip corner.

"What the fuck are you doing out there, Ash?" I ask him, not hiding how annoyed I am. I am worried too, but, what the fuck?

"I was planning to grab some Starbucks. But I got cornered when I turned at the wrong alley."

"What the fuck, Ash."

"Thanks for saving me though, Cal."

"You're my fucking brother. What do you expect me to do? Watch them beat the hell out of you?" I sarcastically shot back but my tone is softer than earlier.

"Whatever, Cal. And stop cussing at me. It's annoying." He's kinda laughing.

"You're annoying. Fuck you, Ash." I laugh.

"Class is over for me. How 'bout you?"

"I don't know. But I'm waiting for someone."

"Who?" His tone is surprise.

"Stop annoying me, Ash." I tried to hold back my laugh.

"What the fuck?" He said. "I'm not even doing anything!" He laughs.

I just nodded my head.

"Is that the one you like?" He asked, half teasing.

"Yeah." I nod.

"Okay then, I'll go ahead. Charmaine's gonna be in my place."

I just nod. Then Ashton climbs into his car and drove off, leaving me alone in the parking lot. My bruises hurts as I move my jaw and head, they hit me pretty good.

"Dammit." I mumbled as I throw a crumpled blooded tissue paper to the ground.

The crumpled tissue rolled until it hits a sneaker. I lifted my head up to see who is it.

"Calum Wayland?"

"Summer?"

I put my head down as she walks to me with a worried expression. Fuck, why now. I don't want her to see me like this.

"Calum?" She calls me again, her voice is a melody and it made my knees weak, damn.

"What?" My voice is hard as I try to hide my face.

"Is there something wrong?" Her voice is curious and worrying at the same time and it's melting me down to my knees. Damn, did love just hit me hard?

I opened my mouth to say something but her soft fingers cupped my chin and turned my head to face her. I don't know why I didn't resist in her doing that, I got away and lost at her touch.

Her eyes widened the moment she saw my bruised face. "What happened to you?"

"Got into a fight."

She looked around and saw my mini first aid kit, she took it and started to place some shit on my bruises and she cleaned the left blood on my lips.

"First day of school and you're into fighting?" Her voice is a bit high and somewhat scolding me like a mother. She leans closer to me as she presses a cotton ball in the corner of my lip. I can smell her hair and her perfume. I closed my eyes but when I tried to lean more closer..

"Done!" She says then I immediately opened my eyes. That was embarrassing.

"Thanks." My voice is low.

"Uhm, is the.. Is the.."

"Is the what?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Is the dinner offer still open?" She shyly asked.

"Of course." I nodded then she smiled.

She fixed up my first aid kit and handed it to me.

"Is your class over?" Summer asks.

"Yes?" I lied but sounded like a question. "You?"

"I feel like skipping today. I'm kinda pissed off." She says.

"Why? What happened?"

"Nothing. I just don't feel like it."

"Let's go to my place?"

"What?" Her brows are pulled together.

"I'll cook for you." I said and her eyes go wide in surprise.

"You cook?" Not hiding her disbelief.

"I just said that I will cook for you." I shot back.

"Oh. Okay."

Summer's POV

I have no idea what got into me. Calum is making me feel something that makes my stomach tumble in a good way. The moment I saw his bruised face, my face frown, his beautiful face is bleeding. I treated his wound and bruises with a cotton ball from his mini first aid kit that he hides in the compartment of his car.

"Are you coming?" Calum's voice interrupted my thought.

"Yeah."

"Get in, then." He says as he opens the door on his side. He's not being a gentleman right now, is he?

I climbed into his car and I am really amazed. His car is really nice.

"You like it?" He asks and I nod.

"Your car is.." I don't know the right word to use for it.

"I know." He smirks.

The drive in the road is really quiet, more like awkward. I can't glance at him cause I don't wanna get caught. My stomach is turning for some reason, I am nervous. I gulped and took a deep breath.

Calum made a turn at one of the exclusive subdivisions around New York. They live here? Well, the car is obviously expensive, I don't doubt that they can live here.

Calum honked his horn in front of of a huge gate with a letter W in the middle. Stands for Wayland I think? The white gate automatically opened and Calum drives in.

"You live here?" I ask as we drive in a bit of a long road after the huge gate.

"Yeah. Why?"

I have no idea what to say. My jaw almost dropped to the car floor when we stopped at a very large house. The door is huge as well. I am like in a palace.

"Welcome to our place." Calum smiled.

We climbed off of the car and I stared at their white door with it's little golden knobs. I looked around the place and saw three other expensive cars. They are fucking rich for fucks sake. And I must say that Calum has a great taste in cars.

"Are those your cars too?"

"No. Those are my brothers' cars"

"You have brothers?"

"Why do you keep on asking about the things that I just said?" He sounds annoyed.

"Sorry." I looked down the concrete ground.

He walks up to me and placed an arm across my shoulders. "Let's go inside?" He invited and I nodded.
