Calum's POV
The darkness of night in New York city is not new to me anymore. I look up the sky as I lean at the side of my new car, a black Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. With my legs and arms crossed. A car light from the corner of my eye got my attention. I straightened up as the car stops not that away from me.
"Hood." The guy called as he close the door of his car. His voice is deep and serious. It's like he doesn't wanna say my name. Well, the feeling is mutual.
I threw a packet to him as he threw a briefcase to me. We caught the items in our hands at the same time.
"No need to doubt, Hood. That's the exact amount." He says as he watch me open the case.
"I just have to be sure."
I looked at the guy as I close the case and hold it at my side. We stare at each other before heading back at our own cars. His car screeched as he drive away passing by me. I placed a hand at the steering wheel before I start my engine and drove off.
Summer's POV
Walking at the night streets and alleys of New York is not Batman-ish to me. I hug myself as my heavy bag clings at my side, New York is cold tonight. I can see smokes as air comes out from my mouth. I made a turn at a corner, hearing only my heavy footsteps from my boots. I am walking at the sidewalk going to our neighborhood when a fast black car makes it way at the middle of the road, I can say that the car is a new model and it looks expensive. I wasn't able to see the driver because I focused on the car.
I got in our house safe and I headed straight at my bedroom.
The next day..
The sound of my alarm clock instantly woke me up. I am going to school today, I don't even feel like going. But I have to obey my parents, it's my responsibility to go to school and graduate and everything shit. My parents refer to me as their "good girl", well, that's how they want me to be, but sometimes, I am getting sick of it, but I hate disappointments, so I am stuck.
"Summer!" My mom called causing my thoughts to fall. "Summer!" She calls again, only louder.
"Coming!" I yelled back as I get out of bed.
I fixed myself up wearing my usual outfit, jeans, shirt, my jacket and my sneakers. I placed my hair down on my shoulders, as always.
"Morning, Summer." Dad greeted as I enter our dining area.
"Morning, Mom and Dad." I say, sitting down beside my dad on our circular wooden dining table. I finished my breakfast fast, I don't wanna be late, commuting is hard at the morning, especially in the rush hours of the day. My car broke down weeks ago and it's still under repair, I don't want my Dad to drive me to school either, I am Eighteen already to be driven to school by a parent.
I go to New York University with a Science course. The school is crowded with a lot of students, I'm new in here.
I am walking in the hallway when a guy bumped me.
"Watch it!" He exclaims, glaring at me. But the glare went soft after a second.
"I'm sorry." I am supposed to be mad because he is the one who is not looking, yet, here I am, apologizing for him.
"Whatever." He muttered under his breath and walked away.
"Jerk." I mumbled as I started to walk too.
Calum's POV
After some few steps, I turned around to see her walking down the hall. I lifted the corner of my lips, forming a small smile.
"She's pretty." I mumbled to myself with a smile.
Yeah. I go to school, I maybe one of the country's most wanted and one of the worlds most dangerous criminal, I still go to school, pretty surprised? I'm just eighteen and here I am, one of the world's most wanted. We attack like lightning and disappear like smoke, that's how swift we are, me and my brothers Ashton, Luke and Michael.
We all use the surname Wayland to hide our real identity. If we use our real surnames, we might get caught, and we don't want that. We fraud every document we need just to hide the real us. And lastly, the authorities doesn't know how we look like. So we are here, free to go and move anywhere while they solve the mystery like crazy.
And yeah, fuck the authorities.
I headed outside the campus and made my way to the parking lot to see my one of my precious babies.
As I walk, I can hear some mumbles and whispers, did I mention that me and my brothers are pretty famous here in new York University? Well, I'm telling you now that we are famous in the school.
"Hey." Ashton greeted as I walk towards him.
Our cars our parked aligned to each other. I gave him a hi-5 before leaning at my car.
"Class is over?" I asked him.
"Class sucks. Why do we even do this shit?" Ashton says before drinking his soda.
"Cause that what normal teenagers do?" It sounded like a question while I'm trying to make a joke out of it.
"What?" Ashton's eyebrows are pulled together. Okay, it's either he didn't get my joke or I really suck at joking or maybe he's just too dumb to get my joke.
"Nothing." I answered. "Where are Luke and Michael?"
"In class I guess. Their cars are here."
"Ashton, how do you feel love for a girl?" I ask, no idea why, it just came out from my mouth.
Ashton looked at me for a second before bursting out a laugh. He is literally laughing at my face right now as he hold the soda can in his hand.
"Ash!" I exclaimed.
"Sorry, sorry." He's still laughing.
Well, my brothers have their own girlfriends and I don't.
"Why'd you ask?" Ashton's tone is serious.
"I think I like someone." Thinking of the girl that I bumped earlier.
"Ooh, you like someone?" Ashton asks and teased.
"I said "I think", Ash. Psh."
"Well, what I felt for Charmaine before is really something that I can't explain."
"You're weird." I laugh.
"You're the one who asked!" Ashton laughs. "When are we gonna meet her?"
"Tonight." I answer with a smile and plan on my head.
