Once Conrad walked out through the front door, the bar’s energy slowly returned to normal, but my mood didn’t. I was still finding it hard to believe that Carlos didn’t send him to me.

His silent promises, intense gaze, and gentle care were carved on my soul. It felt like he was truly concerned about me.
