It was past 7 pm. Landon was long gone, and Clarissa had retired to bed early. I was standing by the balcony. Staring at the beautiful sight in my residence, I wasn't at peace.

I had just betrayed the one person that mattered most to me. I couldn't focus. I couldn't join Clarissa in the room. I had lied to her that I needed some air outside, but the truth was that I couldn't face her.
