Chapter 4 Danny

Chapter 4 Danny

Danny

Gosh, she was so beautiful. She had a spotless skin tone. She was flawless from head to toe. When I walked into the white room, I saw the fear in her eyes. Her shock never left all through our conversation.

She must've been worried about me being Barry. Of course, she should worry because I'm Danny, Barry's identical twin brother.

Crazy, right?

Only a very few people in the world know of my other half.

Barry and I have been distant for years. Even though we settled our differences, we preferred to stay apart and make our living differently.

I was in Florida 3 days ago when Barry called to inform me of his business trip and he wanted me to fill in for him so his absence won't be felt in his company.

As a loyal twin brother, I agreed to help out. I got to his company and everything went just fine. Everybody bought the idea that I was Barry.

When I finally came to see my brother before he left, he handed me the keys to his house and a particular key to the 'white room' he called it. His last words made me curious.

"Touch everything in the house, but avoid the bitch in the white room. She's mine to deal with when I return," he said.

I watched him leave the house and his security men joined his convoy for the airport.

Staring at the keys in my hands, I was curious to find this bitch, so I walked to the room.

To my great surprise, I met a heavenly beauty who seemed tortured and scared of me, or should I say who she thought I was.

At that moment, I just knew she had to be the wife Barry once told me about. What didn't sit right with me was why he would torture her to the extent of locking her up.

At that moment, I thought as fast as I could, and dinner was all I could come up with since dinner was already served to me in the dining room.

"You're not eating?" I asked in a low voice, spreading a smile on my face to cheer her up. She looked at me and curled her lips childishly. I watched her play with the fork and cutlery.

I knew she was probably exhausted and needed to rest. I stood to my feet and she looked up at me with her eyes bulging out.

I smiled and walked towards her. I caressed her hair and kissed her forehead to make her relax. She was gentle and I helped her to her feet, pushing the chair aside.

"Let's get you inside. You should rest now," I whispered and she looked me deep in the eyes. I knew she was searching for answers, but they were answers I couldn't give her.

I lifted her off her feet and carried her to the bedroom.

Her gaze fixated on me, and looking at the keenness of how she looked at me, I just knew she must've loved Barry so dearly but he disappointed her.

In the bathroom, I turned on the shower and let the warm water pour on me.

I couldn't get the thought of Clarissa off my mind. Staring at my reflection in the mirror, I tucked my hair behind my ears.

"Wait! What's going on with me? Why do I care so much about her?" I spoke into the mirror.

At that moment, I heard a voice in my head speak.

"Maybe because you're falling in love with her?" I paused and shook my head in disapproval. Me? I'm Danny, a.k.a ElDrago. The high Lord of Butron Cartel. How can I fall in love? Impossible right?

I shook the thought off my head and laughed my way out. I quickly dried my hair and when I got back to the room, Clarissa was fast asleep.

I felt the urge to join her and cuddle her the whole night, but nah! I had to let her rest. She was so beautiful while she slept. A real-life Barbie.

I raised the duvet above her body and kissed her forehead before leaving the room.

It was about time I had a serious discussion with Barry. I was determined to save Clarissa even if it meant going against my blood brother.
