Adrian’s POV
She arrived at 11:49 p.m.
I opened the door and let her stand there for a full three seconds before stepping aside. She walked in without speaking, closing the door behind her. I turned the lock and watched her shoulders tighten at the sound. She stopped in the middle of the living room staring at my apartment.
I removed my watch, dropped it on the console, and rolled my sleeves once. I walked toward her, expecting her to step back or panic, but she didn’t. That was useful. People who still had real options stepped back.
