I got into the car, still unaware and lost in my thoughts. I've lost count of the amount of times I've had to go through this usual silence I felt after leaving Sienna, my girlfriend.
I sat in the driver’s seat, my hands tightening around the steering wheel, the headlights cutting through the heavy rain hammering against the windshield. My jaw burned from clenching it for the entire twenty-minute drive.
"I’m just tired tonight, babe. Can’t we just watch a movie or do something else?”
Her voice was still echoing in my head, flat, indifferent, and completely dismissive. It was the exact same voice she’d used last weekend....
