Eileen’s POV
The deck was still buzzing from the archery game.
Laughter lingered, mixed with disbelief from my flawless shot. Even those who had doubted me earlier now looked at me differently.
But not everyone was pleased.
Chris’s expression had darkened slightly. He glanced at Liora, then leaned closer to her, lowering his voice.
“Your turn.”
Liora blinked. “What?”
“You’ll be the target.”
Her face drained of color instantly. “Are you crazy? What if she misses?”
Chris frowned. “She won’t.”
“I’m not doing it.”
Her refusal came too fast, too sharp.
The others began murmuring, some teasing, some genuinely curious.
