‘I’m going to find Kathryn and bring her home!” Lyon announced to Martins and Fiona on the dinning.

“I’ve missed her so much, I just can’t wait to see her,” Fiona said softly, her fork motionless on her plate. Her words hung in the air, heavy with longing.

Lyon didn’t say anything, but he nodded, his face unreadable as he pushed back his chair and stood up. The scrape of the chair legs echoed through the room, and before anyone could respond, he was already walking away from the table.

Martins watched him leave, his brow furrowed. He quickly stood, tossing his napkin aside and hurrying after him....
