Three weeks after that chili fiasco, things had changed drastically, Roxanne, and her posse were banned from ever cooking again. Now they are permanently on gardening duty, which I find hilarious because those bitches complain so much about pulling weeds; they were agitated when they found out they could participate in the Alpha Ball. They cried, which was music to my ears.

   Today Mrs. Hicks has everybody on their toes with cleaning, as soon as I walk into the kitchen, “Winter” I turn around to see that Mrs. Hicks is approaching me.

“I need you and Emmily to take these piles of tablecloths to the washroom to clean.” She said, pointing at two big baskets on the side of the table.

 I went to grab one basket, Emmily came on in, and retrieved the other; when we entered the laundry room, I began to ask, “ Hey Emmily, what with all the fraist bout around here?”

“You didn’t hear? We got approved of throwing the Alpha Ball here this year.”

“What the big idea? It's just a party surrounded by cocky Alphas, Bitchy Lunas, and horny ass she-wolves.” I replied.

“Rumor going around that the Alpha King is coming, and you know how it is when it comes to Alphas? They have to kiss ass to get what they want. Also, Alpha King has the best soldiers in his pack; everyone wants to ally with him.

“I figure that's the reason, Alpha going all out for this event when I this suppose to happen?” I asked.

“In two days.”

“That's just great.”

“What’s wrong Winter?”

“Nothing Emmily, it’s just that the day of the Alpha’s ball is also my birthday, I can’t believe I will be turning eighteen. Growing up I always had dreams of what my life will be when I turned eighteen. Of course, I hope that I have found my mate, and we will be madly in love and happy. I would never have thought my life would be like this, rejected twice, but most of all, being a slave.” I say with watery eyes.

  Emmily walked over, and embraced me in her arms “ It’s ok Winter, let it all out if you need to.”

 We stood there as I cried in Emmily arms; it seemed that it finally hit me, I felt myself becoming broken from all the pain that I had to endure, most of it came from my father's betrayal. How he just sold me off with no remorse, I never had a chance to take my angrier head-on. I always kept everything bottled inside until the pain became numb. That is how I always handle things until today.

“I’m sorry Emmily, I don’t mean to break down like this,” I said, pulling away from her.

“It’s ok, Winter; there's nothing to be ashamed of; we all reach a breaking point someday. And today was the day for you, My day was three years ago, so it’s normal.

“I guess I needed that, anyway let’s get back to work.”

Emmily nodded.

   On the day of the ball, I started to feel emotional again, I’m eighteen today, and I began dusting, mopping, and cleaning rooms. While cleaning, I begin to hear some of the she-wolves' conversations.

“Alpha promise me if I suck him off I can go to the ball,” the woman said.

“Well did you do it?” Another woman asked.

“Of course, let me tell you  Alpha have a big one.”

“If that is all that it takes, maybe the Alpha let me do him,” other women said, chuckling.

There is only one way to find out” The woman walked off, I just shook my head, and headed to the next room.

The rest of the day went smoothly, I just hated that Emmily, and I could not work together today. Which made it even lousier, I was in the dining hall mopping the last part of the floor.

“What are you doing here mutt?”

I turned my head to see that it was Luna, and Beta lady looking at me.

“What does it look like I’m doing? I said, snapping.

A slap went across my face, I turned to see that it was Beta lady who slapped me.” You need to know your place whore”.

“It takes one to know one, would you agree Luna?” I replied.

Luna let out a growl that had Beta lady submitting, but not me. For a second, I saw fear in Luna's eyes, then she went back, putting her brutal face on “I’m going to enjoy kicking your ass”.

“I like to see you try” I begin to feel angrier building up in me when I realize that Marceline is trying to come forward, I’m holding her back.

“It’s time to fight back Winter; take no prisoners, “ Marceline said.

 Luna, and Beta lady circle around me, I was ready to take on this battle head-on as soon as the attack was bout to occur; we heard footsteps coming in. Then we listened to a lot of voices that made us both stand down.

“You lucky that tonight is special, we would beat the shit out of you,” Beta lady said.

“Trust me it would have been the other way around; you save yourself from the embarrassment,” I said, chuckling.

They both let out more growls, I could feel the aura increasing before it could go any further. “Ladies”

  We all turn to see Beta Swanson there dressed in a black and white tuxedo with his arms folded and a look of frustration.

“What is the meaning of this? You know what I don’t want to hear it. You two need to go and get dressed; this night is special; remember the Alpha King coming,” he said, pointing at Luna, and his mate.

They nodded, walking off, Beta Swanson looked over at me. “ You need to go; you are causing enough trouble already. You are to stay in your room for the rest of the night.”

“Thank God” I said, rolling my eyes, walking away. I’m glad that this day was ending. I walked upstairs, headed inside my room, opened the door, and went right on in. When I closed the door, I turned around to see Emmily standing there with a comb and brush in hand. I notice a dress and a towel on my bed, I look back at Emmily.

“What is all of this Emmily? I asked, observing everything.

Emmily looked at me with a smile and replied, “ You will be Cinderella tonight”.
