I have no idea what Kevin ultimately said to Robert. Since that call, it's been the same as before – radio silence. No returned calls, no replied messages, just "busy" whenever I ask.

When I thought Robert would come directly after my wound healed, but it turned out to be Lady Scarlett who showed up.

She didn't beat around the bush, showing some concern for my injury before diving straight into the topic. "Alice, has your little uncle visited these past few days?"

"No," I replied as the little one nestled in my arms, its wound on the arm nearly healed, allowing normal movement. Another check-up next week...
