Alice waved her phone. “Can't you understand English? Do you want me to play what those guys said again?”

She laughed. “Why don't you tell me how to explain this to the Trey Family? Tell them their daughter was inexplicably assaulted on their own turf?”

"Eric, if I were any later, Jojo would be the one suffering."

“Even if you were a stranger, you shouldn't say something like that.”

Eric pressed his lips together, looking somewhat deflated.

Alice crossed her arms, her stunning face half-hidden in the shadows. “Should I go settle scores with Betty, or should the Trey Family patriarch do it? You choose.”
