CHAPTER THREE
E M E R A L D
"Is that it? Looks okay right?" I questioned Ethan, not taking my eyes off the laptop screen in front of me.
"Yes." He nodded and he hit send.
"How long would we have to wait for a response?" I asked now looking at Ethan.
" Well it's still working hours so I guess they could send a response whenever." He replied running his hand through his black hair.
" I'd like to visit the supermarket so I can buy ingredients to cook dinner." I informed him.
" They responded!" Ethan cheerfully announced and I rushed to the computer screen.
Good day Miss Rochelle Floyd, we appreciate your interest in working with us and your resume looks quite impressive. If you are really interested in working with us please come to Castriel Constructions as early as seven in the morning to get your screening done. Do have a good day.
"It seems they are impressed. You mentioned going to the supermarket? Get an office attire so you look as professional as possible." Ethan ordered.
" I'll need your credit card, you know mine is practically empty." I replied and he nodded.
Ethan walked into the kitchen while I went into the bedroom to put on a peach playsuit.
"Rochelle though?" I muttered to Ethan as he came in front of me.
"Yes it's a cute name." Ethan chuckled.
"Go to the supermarket already!" Ethan kissed my cheeks repeatedly.
**
An arm nudged me lightly but I brushed it off and turned the other way to keep sleeping.
The arm nudged me more violently causing my eyes to shoot open where i heard my phone ringing non-stop.
I picked up the phone to see an alarm going off repeatedly, with annoyance, I turned the alarm off and snuggled up in bed with Ethan.
In the middle of my sleep trying to figure out why I set the alarm, my eyes burst open as if lightening had struck my brain, I jumped up from the bed and looked at the time.
"It's already six!" I announced loudly causing Ethan to groan and turn away from the sound of my voice.
I hurriedly took a shower and got dressed in a black bodysuit and a plaid jacket and skirt to match.
My long cheasnut brown hair was packed in a low bun, all fitting the look I was trying to achieve.
I checked the room before leaving and Ethan was still sound asleep. I took a note and a pen to write a message for him.
Good morning babe, I had to leave because I was getting late for the interview. I bought cereal from the supermarket yesterday so check one of the cabinets in the kitchen. Finally, I don't know how long I'll take so please just do the dishes today.
Emmy.
It took me two buses and a seven minutes walk before I reached the gate of Castriel Constructions.
"Are you a visitor or an employee?" A young man in a security guard outfit stopped me before I could enter the premises.
"I'm here for an interview? I was told to reach the reception?" I stuttered, biting my lower lip.
" Wait here." He roughly spat.
The young man scanned my look from my shoes to my hair before entering his security guard office to make a call. He looked deep into my eyes that I began to look down getting really anxious.
Did he realize I gave him a fake ID? Should I run?
" You may go in. The main building is straight down." He directed before opening the gate to let me through.
Of course the main building is straight down, I would know the main building even without directions.
Once I passed the gate the premises of the huge company was busy. Cars moving all over, cars parked, people standing talking to others while others on the phone.
It felt like a world of it's own.
I kept my head straight, looking forward but I couldn't help not noticing high rise buildings scattered all over the place with the logo of the company.
I'm so glad the security guard directed me otherwise I would have surely gotten lost.
After walking for almost five minutes, I noticed a building, bigger and fancier than the rest of the other ones. This building held both the logo and the name; Castriel Constructions written in bold while the logo with a gold plated design.
My feet hurts, these heels are killing me.
The staircase leading to the main entrance door was beautiful and fancy with two men standing at opposite sides in the same uniform as the security guard but with welcoming smiles.
The main entrance door was a beautifully designed automatic glass door and as soon as I passed the door, I gaped.
The basic interior of this place looked like business and elegance had come to play. It felt like money was basically running around this place.
I'd do anything to work here.
"Hello!" Someone whisper yelled jolting back to reality.
"Huh?" I looked both left and right feeling confused as to what was happening.
"You're standing in the reception with your mouth slightly opened and you're gawking at the place like you're stunned or something. Are you alright?" The lady asked and I lowered my head in embarrassment.
" Ah..yes.. I'm here for an interview." I managed to say.
" The personal assistant position?" She questioned.
" Yes." I politely nodded.
" Stacey! She's the one from the interview." The lady said loudly enough for the lady at the reception to notice us.
"Come this way!" The receptionist at the desk threw her hand in the air and ushered us to come to her.
I quickly walked towards the reception desk and a blonde lady who looked to be in her early thirties but dressed in co operate black and white smiled at me.
"You're late." She scolded and her expression turned serious.
" Aww, don't scold her Stace, she's going to get enough of that later." The lady from earlier held my shoulders and smiled at me then at Stacey the receptionist.
I'm going to get enough of that? Don't tell me I'll lose the opportunity to get close to Reynolds.
"I'm really really sorry, I'll never repeat this mistake, just give me a chance and I'll prove to be efficient." I profusely apologised even almost shedding fake tears.
I'll do anything I must to get this chance otherwise it will be difficult to get a chance to make Reynolds notice me.
Both Stacey and the lady from earlier looked at me slightly shocked at the drama I just performed and then looked back at each other.
"Hand me your files and then use the elevator to get to the second floor, take your left and walk straight down almost to the end of the hall and then there's an office by your right. Knock before entry." Stacey instructed and pointed me to the direction of the elevator.
" Thank you! I really appreciate this."I thanked before speed walking to the the elevator.
