Jeremy sat rooted to the spot. He couldn't move. It was as if his brain was rebooting.
"Jeremy?" His mum called out.
"Yeah, I'm okay." He blinked. "I...I just...this is quite a lot to take in."
Crazy Johnny shook his head, smiling gently. "Well, you're still handling it better than I thought."
"So you're a werewolf?" Jeremy asked and he nodded. "How come I've not been able to detect you? Scent, presence, aura, anything."
A sad look crossed Crazy Johnny's face.
"I was never the same after my son's death." He said. "A werewolf's mental strength comes from his emotions. Anger, happiness, Determination. These key emotions translate to physical power for our kind. When I lost my son, all that filled me was depression and sorrow. These feelings tempered with and weakened my physical abilities and physiology. As I grew older, it got worse. I tried everything to get over it but it never worked. Nothing hurts like losing your only child."
Jeremy's eyes calmed a bit and he stared at his mother. She returned his look with a solemn one.
"Despite the fact that Jack wasn't mated with Sandra, she loved him." Crazy Johnny said. " It was unfortunately one sided. It hurt her when she found out about his bond with your mother. It seemed the pain grew into slight hatred for Juniper here. She despised your mother and everything that had to do with her. Unfortunately, you had to be drawn into it, being her son. June found out about the relationship Jack had with Sandra earlier and the birth of Kyle. She didn't think much of it but Sandra's attitude didn't help matters. June knowing she was a human, perceived her weak and predicted that a closeness between you and Kyle could be dangerous. Then came Jack's demise which added fire to the fuel. Sandra now hated werewolves in general. She prayed her son would never turn out to be one and it seems her prayer was answered as Kyle never showed any signs of being one. Unfortunately fate has a way of manifesting itself in funny ways. Kyle turned out to be a late bloomer in werewolf terms. Just like yourself and your mate. Sandra didn't like werewolves but what could she do? Kyle was her son. She couldn't bring herself to hate him. So the only thing she could do was avoid telling him about his abilities in order to keep herself from Jack's memories and ties. I on my part had moved in to this town to find a way to stay close to you boys. It was the best I could do for my son, since the two women in his life couldn't make things easier."
Jeremy smiled a bit and June snorted, although a smile was attempting to leave her lips.
"You don't know how much happiness I had to see my grandson's grow and become young men." Crazy Johnny smiled. "I may have lost most of my abilities but that was a great compensation."
Jeremy watched as the older man finished. Shiela who had been quiet had walked up to him and he patted her head.
'Finally got if off your chest, didn't you?' She wagged her tail.
'You have no idea.' He grinned.
Crazy Johnny faced Jeremy. The teen's face switched through different demeanour. Calm, thoughtful and finally anger.
"Jeremy? " Crazy Johnny called. "Are you okay, boy?"
"Yeah." Jeremy nodded. "Just glad things have become clearer."
He reached forward and squeezed June's hand affectionately. She smiled at him and squeezed back.
"This only means one thing." He glared towards the ground. "Dominic took away two important people in my family."
"And now.." His eyes glowed menacingly.
"I've got even more reason to want to destroy him."
