The days after the hockey arena attack were hard. The Academy was busy fixing broken doors and building higher walls. Everyone was on edge. But the biggest problem for me wasn't the monsters hiding in the woods. It was the monster hiding in my own chest: jealousy.

Since we found out that Lord Castillo was helping Voss, some wolves from the Southern packs had fled. They didn't want to be part of Castillo's dark plans. Alpha Alejandro let them stay at the Academy. We needed the numbers, and they needed a safe place.
