The faint scratching of a pen against paper was the only sound in the office. I wasn't writing because as soon as Fiona's name appeared on my phone screen, I stopped reading the reports that were in front of me.
She didn't call until it was an emergency. I responded right away. "Tell me you have something." After a pause, Fiona's steady, clipped voice finally emerged. "I've got something. However, you won't like it."
