Lily’s point of view

As the work hour drew to a close, I was already planning out my evening activities in my head. Curled up on the tiny couch in my office's corner, Aiden's tiny body was rising and falling in time with his sleep. I didn't blame him for falling asleep because he had had a tough day.

I let out a sigh as I looked at the pile of papers on my desk. Nearing completion. We could leave here and head home for dinner before nightfall if I finished things quickly.

I was just about to begin packing up when I heard a loud banging on the door....
