Marcus's control over the pack wasn't absolute, as I had always known, even before Lily's return. Everything was in disarray, even before Aiden's first shift. Beneath the surface, there were always imperfections minor rifts in commitment, secret doubts. The proper pressure was all that was required to crack them open.
