As I walked inside my office, the big oak door behind me thumping softly, I could feel the tension in the air. Alec was already sat with a glum expression on his face and his tablet balanced on his lap.

I sat behind the desk and said, "Have you found something," without making any effort to be polite.

Alec nodded and tapped at his tablet. "It's even bigger in scale than we had realized; Edith has many other pack members loyal only to her-through threats, debts of gratitude, and actual fears-some being elders and enforcers.”
