Lucas's Point of View

I could tell Edith was two steps ahead of me as soon as I entered the dark living room sitting there with the grace of a woman who had mastered the art of silent restraint for decades, she sat by the enormous fireplace with her legs crossed. Her angular features were framed by swirling shadows from the fire, but her eyes were not gentle. She was aware enough, but not all, right from time we were never really close but I think we are alike in some way.

I made a slow step forward while maintaining a neutral expression and clenching my fists at my sides....
