Chapter 4

"Just calm down," I said to her while using sign language.

We were on our way to the stated Alpha's dungeon, and I was still hoping while clutching my sister that we would make it out alive. I've heard reports that he's low-ranking like us, but I need a powerful prayer.

But when I discovered Calista had a wound on her leg, I just stared at her in surprise, and she shrugged her shoulder. I was flung around inside the dark and freezing prison like a shanty of potatoes, and as Calista was hurled, I caught her petite body and felt pangs all over me.

"Behave yourselves, plagues of the tribe! I don't know if that Alpha would have the guts to let you see another day." The man stated his name was Sebastian and then turned to spit on us, but luckily I escaped him.

And when the door closed, I was still clutching Calista. I hung her from a chair and then removed my cape.

"You don't have to do this," she murmured in sign language, but I just smiled at her.

I closed my eyes and felt the energy I would be transmitting. Then I started to get chilly goosebumps and my eyes began to shine. Calista's leg, where her wound was, was touched, and my hand was carefully moved through it. Calista's leg wound had healed as if nothing had happened.

"All done!" I replied with a smile, and she signed, "You shouldn't do that. Someone will see you and use you for your abilities." I patted her on the head with my two fingers.

"Acting like an older sister, huh? What are you doing in the woods then? What if I don't get there right away? I told you it's not safe for us to wander around," I replied to Calista, who sounded disturbed and turned in a different direction. I was going to dispute with her again when the door unexpectedly opened.

We're not making a sound since we don't know if he's a decent Alpha or if we'll be forced to reveal who we work for.

"What are you doing in the woods that late?" He asked and he was in the dark. Only his chin was lighted by the moonlight.

I don't know what to say to him, but I'm very cautious.

"I told you she can't talk because she's deaf, but she was there to fix some plants for my auntie's medicine," I whispered to him, my voice quivering, knowing I had no right to stand in front of him and speak the way I do.

"Please spare my sister's life." The man on the other side of the fence didn't say anything while hugging Calista, and when he stepped inside, it grew colder around us.

"Fine, say goodbye to your sister!" He said, and my world collapsed around me as the men surrounding him entered the dungeon.

"I'll be fine, Calista. Be safe." I murmured to her in sign language, kissing her forehead as I was dragged, as did my sister in a much harder fashion.

"Please don't hurt her, your highness," I begged but was slapped across the face.

"Isn't the Alpha enough to spare your sister's life? You're living a dream to make so many requests," an unknown man said, and then I attempted to get their grasp off of me and was smacked on the back of my neck hard, leaving only sight of Calista being dragged and everything went dark.

I'm not sure, but I think I'm chasing a fever. Then I realized I was in a bath with lukewarm water and a lady dressed in maid attire was scrubbing me. I'm not sure, but I don't want them to pull that dirt out of me because it serves as my camouflage and has caused me to flee from potentially lethal situations.

"Get off of me!" I screamed to the woman, standing up, and they all stared in different directions, and that's when I realized I was completely naked, and I hurriedly went down, ashamed, and the woman who was attending to me didn't say anything.

I was itching all over my body till I got dressed, and I assumed the Alpha had sold me to some filthy rich guy, but that guy didn't have to worry because I could poison him and just leave his room.

"Wait for the arrival of Master Liam, and behave yourself." She said, and I was shocked who's Master Liam?

I was locked in a room with lots of food and candles giving off a very fragrant smell. I was walking as I stood in front of a glass and I saw what they did to me.

My hair was braided and there were tiny flowers placed on it. I had this huge ball gown and this was the first time I saw myself clean and then the door opened.

"I didn't know that slaves could be this beautiful." said someone and my thought was he could be Master Liam., and he was moving towards me.

I didn’t know what to do because I was restless. A memory was flashing before my eyes and it was the day I was held captive as well, by his parents, and now he's the Alpha.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"Is the other way of knowing your hunt?" I asked and he smirked and said, "Feisty."

"This will do, and you'll be my muse for tomorrow's ball." He said coldly, but I don't understand.

"I don't mean any harm, I just want you to help me." He said to me, and I was just looking at him.

When he was close to me, he approached my neck and licked it, but because of my fast reflexes, I slapped him.

"What are you doing?" I shouted at him with a trembling voice.

"I'm not here to argue and you should be thankful because I needed something for you or else you should be shredded into pieces by now." He said it in a much colder tone.

"That's all I needed of you. Attend the ball and I'll set you free." He added and left me.

With all of the amount of food he left me, I didn't have the slightest appetite to dig in on that luxurious food and decided to transform into a wolf and howl the agony I felt inside, hoping that my sister was escorted safely back into my Aunt's house.

Most importantly, how can Annalise calm down when she's held captive by the man she somehow fell for before?
