Liam was in the middle of signing the request paper the Council passed on to him this morning when he heard a knock. He was expecting to see one of the high-ranked wolves come, but as soon as he lifted his head, he saw Annalise in the doorway. It wasn’t until they locked eyes that she started moving.

“Annalise…” Liam softly called his name. He sat straight. “I didn’t know you’d come.”
