"I know you're awake, Emily."

His voice was a dark, low rumble that vibrated right against the shell of my ear.

I opened my eyes, staring blindly into the pitch-black shadows of my bedroom. My heart was hammering so hard against my ribs it felt like it was going to crack them open. His massive, warm hand was still clamped tight over my hip, squeezing my bare flesh through the thin lace of my g-string.

A sudden, violent wave of nausea and rage hit me all at once.
