The private elevator chimed softly, its doors sliding open into the grand foyer of the penthouse.
Victoria was standing near the floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the city lights, holding a crystal glass of white wine. She turned around immediately as we stepped out onto the marble floor.
"There you are," Victoria said, setting her glass down on a side table. Her sharp eyes scanned both of us. "You two took forever in that garage. I was beginning to think the driver got lost."
