"Ethan, we have an early lecture tomorrow morning!" I blurted out, my voice shrill, tight, and completely fake. "You need to get inside right now!"

Before he could process a single word, I grabbed his wrist, dragged him across the carpeted corridor toward Penthouse 54B, and shoved his apartment keys into his trembling hand.

"Unlock it!" I hissed under my breath, glancing frantically over my shoulder.
