Ethan’s three little dots on my phone screen danced for a second before disappearing. A second later, his reply popped up:

I’ll be there. I’ll do anything, Em. Please just give me a chance to explain.

Daniel looked down at the notification with a cold, slow smirk, then tossed my phone onto the mahogany nightstand. His heavy hand reached out, cupping the back of my neck and pulling me up until my chest pressed against his bare, warm torso.

"Good girl," he murmured, his thumb brushing over my bottom lip, wiping away the faint glistening trace of his release. "Now go to sleep. You have a busy afternoon...
