I am blinded by pain when my head connects with the hard ground, but I’m grateful that I no longer feel Enzo’s breath on my neck or his teeth on my skin. I try to look around to see where the force came from, but the world has turned horizontal, it’s hard for me to make out what is happening, but it’s a great commotion.
