Amelia's POV
I cowered back in fear, almost merging with the door, trying to look as small as possible.
“What were you doing at my border?” He asked me, his eyes piercing through me as if to detect any lie.
Why was he doing this to me?
I haven’t seen him from wherever to warrant this hate.
“I..I…I got lost. I didn’t mean to…to breach your border.” I answered him, stammering in fear.
“Or you were trying to finish what your ancestors started, yes?” He asked, his voice accusatory.
“What do you mean? I really don’t know anything. I re..really got lost, and was waiting for my friend to pick me, I swear.” I said desperately in a bid to portray the truth.
He glared at him. “You’ve got powers?, an elemental mage?” He asked, making me look at him as if he was crazy.
“You rejected me already, but that doesn’t mean you can be accusing me.” I said, glaring at him. He opened his mouth to answer but was cut off by a knock on the door.
I quickly crawled away from the door.
“Come in Jasper.” My mate said. The door opened as I was met with another version of my mate.
I opened my mouth in shock, looking at both of them in surprise. The only difference was their eye color and my ex mate was more tanned than his brother.
“Yea….we get that reaction a lot.” Jasper said, smiling sweetly at me, his voice so comforting, making me want to move closer to him.
“Hmm..an omega. This is interesting, isn’t it Casper?” Jasper said, making me frown slightly at them.
Wait! Twins? The goddess!
These are the evil twins I’ve heard so much about.
I couldn’t believe I was standing in front of the Alpha and his twin brother of the Blood Moon pack, the strongest pack in the world.
“What are you gonna do to me? I told you I unknowingly crossed your border. Please can I go back? I promise, I won’t say a word of what happened here.” I said desperately, begging for release.
“You are going nowhere.” Casper said.
“Why? Haven’t you rejected me? So why do you still want to keep me hostage?” I asked desperately and in rage.
“What? Rejected? Casper you rejected your mate?” Jasper looked like he just heard the biggest joke of his life.
His voice was full of disbelief, anger and disappointment as he looked at Casper, as if to ask if I was saying the truth.
“You don’t expect to keep an omega as a mate, do you? Not after what they have done.” He replied with nonchalance making me wonder where he gets his guts from.
“I didn’t do anything to him. I didn’t cross your border knowingly. Please let me go.” I begged Jasper who had a poker face on.
“Little girl, it isn’t your fault. I’m not in the position to explain anything to you. You just have to let him calm down.” He replied but this time, his gaze held pity.
“What’s your name?” Jasper was facing me now when he asked
“Amelia Ferris of the Dark Tide pack.”
“It’s nice to meet the princess of Dark Tide.” He said smiling.
I smiled back at him. I stood up from the floor to sit on the bed. My stomach growled in hunger, making me blush in embarrassment.
Jasper chuckled. “Follow me, let’s get your stomach filled.” I immediately stood up and walked behind him in silence.
“So you’ve got powers huh?” He asked, breaking the silence which felt suffocating.
“No, I don’t. I don’t even know what you are talking about.” I responded truthfully.
They are both crazy. One even crazier than the other. I thought.
When we got out of the room, all I could say was wow.
This house was beautiful.
We passed a long corridor before getting to the kitchen.
This kitchen was fit for a palace.
If I could, I would carry it back to my pack. I was lost in my thoughts when I was brought out of my dreamland.
“So, what would you like to eat? The maid will prepare it for you.” I looked at Jasper and saw a maid standing next to him, head bowed down.
“I think pancakes will be fine.” I said.
“Prepare pancakes for her.” Jasper said to the maid.
“Yes Beta Jasper.” The maid answered, going further into the kitchen.
“Come, let’s go to the living room.” He said to me, I nodded my head at him.
As we were walking, each lost in thoughts, I suddenly remembered Cole and my father.
I stopped abruptly.
Jasper turned to look at me, his gaze was questioning.
“Please can I lend your phone.” I asked desperately.
“Sure, follow me.” His reply was short.
He took me to the living room and handed his phone to me, I thanked him profusely, while dialing Cole’s digit. It rang for a while before he picked it.
*Who are you?.* He asked, sounding angry and not in the mood to joke around.
I sobbed before answering. “Cole, it's Lia.”
*Lia, omg! Where have you been? We have searched everywhere for you. We tracked your scent, but it was faint. You got me so worried. Your father thrashed everywhere when you couldn’t be found. He even started calling alphas of the neighboring packs. Where are you?” I l
He asked, his voice sounding both relieved and worried.
“I’m at t..the Blood Moon pack. Alpha Casper fo..found me. Please come get me.” I cried into the phone, wishing he was here to take me away.
*Blood Moon Pack. Goodness Amelia! How did you get there? Are they maltreating you? I need to inform your father about this. We will come get you Baby girl.” He coaxed, the background noise increasing, sounding as if he was running.
I cut the call and gave him back his phone, thanking him and mentally awaiting for my father and Cole to come pick me.
“You are smart to say I found you.” I heard Casper’s voice, making me jump in shock.
I looked between them and came to a realization it was a test.
I felt betrayed by Jasper. No wonder! Who gives a hostage a phone to call.
