Casper’s Pov
“You are smart to say I found you” I say, stepping into the kitchen.
Did she really think I would have allowed Jasper to hand over the phone to her willingly?
I wanted her here and I always get what I want. It was a test to see what she was going to do if I left line of sight, I figured she was going to do just this.
“Really? You know, I still don’t know what you intend to do with me. You rejected me myself, kidnapped me without a specific reason and now I’m not allowed to inform my family members of my whereabouts? You’re the real definition of clown”. She said storming past me to go out of the kitchen.
I’ve only known her for what? Five hours?
And she has managed to make me angrier than I’ve ever been in months.
“What exactly do you intend to do with her, Casper? You’ve rejected her already and broken the bond” Jasper said looking at me pointedly.
“That’s the problem, I rejected her but that only got rid of the physical bond; tingling feeling and electric touches. But the emotional bond is still intact, I’m not sure she feels the bond drawing us together though. Prolly because she’s an omega. But I still feel drawn to her like I did not reject her at all.” I answer honestly.
“So your point is? See Casper, you’d only continue to look like an asshole to her if you don’t explain what you just explained to me to her also. Because from what I’ve seen and confirmed, it looks like you rejected her, yet held her hostage without any valid reason.” Jasper says, he has always been the reasonable one between us.
Always thinking things through before venturing into them.
“I’ll find her now to explain everything to her. I’ve sent an invitation to Raila, the witch though. I need an explanation for this. I’d let Amelia go after our bond has been broken thoroughly. I can’t just let her go now, only the moon goddess knows what is hidden behind all these, I’m not meant to feel so attached to her”. I explained.
Maybe she bewitched me. I said in my mind, forgetting for a fraction of second that I have an inner wolf who listens to my thoughts.
“You fool, I would sense something fishy and alert you if she really used a charm on us.” Ray, my wolf said.
“Then provide an explanation to all these ruckus. Why am I feeling so drawn to her even after the bond is broken?” I asked him.
“I do have an answer to that but I won’t mention a word about it to you. It’s not like you listen to me anyways, I begged you repeatedly not to reject her but you did what you think is best for yourself. You did not even bother to know what the aftermath of the rejection will be on me.” Ray growled. Guess I pushed him to the limits this time.
Damn! My hatred for Amelia had increased tenfold.
She wants to create a rift between my wolf and I too?
“You don’t get it do you? You are still too basked in your hatred for Omegas to see the significance a Luna will add to your park. A pack without a Luna is more likely to fall if you don’t know.” Ray continued lecturing me.
“And I’ll only tell you this once. If you and Amelia stay too far away from each other, you’d both fall sick which might result in death. So, go on and continue acting stubborn.” He said and this shocked me greatly.
Fate must be really playing monopoly with my love life.
Because why else would I have to be mated to someone that falls under the category of what I hate most at first?
And now, I mustn’t let her go too far from me.
What kind of silly and intertwined bond is this?
That did not lessen my hatred for Amelia though.
I only seem to hate her more as each second ticks on.
“Are you done daydreaming?” Jasper asked, leaning leisurely against the counter and sipping tea. It seemed like he was watching a movie while staring at me.
I guess I zoned out for a little while.
“Sorry, just having an important conversation with Ray.” I told him.
“Uhm, just wanted to remind you that you said you wanted to discuss everything you just discussed with me to Amelia.” He reminded me.
Well, I guess I have to deal with her now before her useless father comes barging in on me to free his daughter.
I muttered a quick ‘thanks’ to Jasper and retraced my steps out of the kitchen. I asked a few maids about the direction of Amelia’s whereabouts and I was told she went towards the garden.
An unnatural anger consumed me immediately. I heard that that garden was started and nurtured by my mother before she died.
Not to be admired by the same descendants of her killers.
I marched towards the garden in rage, the anger only propelling me to move faster. She doesn’t deserve any iota of the serenity the garden provides. People of her breeds only deserve for their necks to be snapped on sight.
They’re monsters who derive joy in taking other people's joy.
I intended on going over there to give her a lashing of her life but Ray interfered.
“You’ll only end up yelling at her and won’t get any necessary stuff said to her if you go over to get with the pent up anger in you.”
“But–” I started but got interrupted again.
“Try to cool down your temper or I forcefully shift into myself. Trust me, that won’t end well because I won’t bother going to Amelia, instead I’d take a run in the forest. Then, her Dad and friend would come here to take her away. Now, Casper, do you intend on dying and handing over this pack to another person to rule?” He retorts angrily.
I shoved down my anger, walked towards the garden and saw Amelia there truly.
She looks so lost in thoughts that I’m sure she did not perceive my scent or she’d have tensed. I cleared my throat and she jumped in fright before turning around to face me.
“We need to talk.” I didn't give her the space to talk when I noticed her mouth moving.
