I was able to get through to my parents over the phone and honestly, their happiness was beyond compare.

I haven't seen them this joyous since the accident with Valerie.

But I am glad that's over now, after speaking with them, I returned my phone to my pocket and waited outside the ward, because I knew seeing me would only make Valerie get infuriated with anger.

Still, I was glad she was over the dying phase.
