If it wasn’t Sky told him about his uneasiness a few moments before he went to shoot his unit part with Hyun, the leader would not have felt the same. After hearing Sky’s side, it was like confirming something for him.
He wanted to share what he saw when they arrived there with Sky, but knowing it would make their conditions and thoughts worst, he kept his mouth zipped and let Sky’s story to be delivered to his brain. It had been a few minutes since what he saw had disturbed him.
Earlier when they arrived at the location, Han saw a silhouette stood behind the window in one of the classroom at the second floor. There were no curtains or blinds, so he doubted if that was a curtain. Half of its body was shown, and Han could partially see its face, so he could not identify whether that was a female or male.
Han blinked his eyes hard to make his view clear but the moment he opened his eyes, the silhouette disappeared. This had his eyebrows furrowed deep. He began to scan through the second floor, looking for the silhouette, but it only led him to a disappointment.
The leader snapped out of his thought when he felt a vibrate from his phone. He fished it out from one of his jeans’ pocket and found out that he received an incoming call from an anonymous. Without a doubt, he clicked on the green button and stuck the phone’s front speaker on his ear.
He answered, “hello.”
Only silence that answered the leader.
“Hello?” Han pulled away from the phone, taking another look at the number. “Hello? Who’s there?” As longer silence dragged through the call, he clicked the red button with a shook from his head. He went to the call log after that and screenshot the evidence.
Since he suspected that it was a call from a sasaeng fan, he made the decision to report about it to his agency when they returned to Seoul to have the phone number tracked and to have the owner of the number blacklisted just in case he received another call from the same number. He proceeded to block the number and shoved his phone back to his pocket.
Life as an idol. Haters, excessive fans, controversies, false rumors. Having such experiences were inevitable as an artist.
He was enjoying the cookies that Hyun’s mother baked for them while reading a novel when another vibrate from his phone distracted his reading. Annoyed, yet he managed to stay calm. He took out his phone and checked the screen.
He was astounded as the same phone number appeared as the caller’s I.D. The question that played in his mind was ‘how come?’ How come a blocked phone number could call him?
He did not reject the call. He put down the phone on the small table and left it moved in circle due to the vibration. A few seconds after it laid on the table, it stopped vibrating. Han barely read five words from the book, directed his glance at his phone – expecting the phone would notify another call soon. He wanted to assume that it was a prank from the members, but he was certain that it was not a prank. Even the members disliked getting unknown calls like that.
Still bothered, he closed the novel as he folded a page as a mark. He examined the surrounding, looking for the rest of the members.
First, Han knew Hyun and Sky were filming their scene together. So, he slid them off his mind. Then, he found Joonwoo, Jisung and Dongmin were together, playing around in front of the camera that Dongmin held. Attentively looking for phones, his eyes darted looking for bulges in the pants’ front and back pockets and perhaps, an item in their hands. Unfortunately, Joonwoo and Jisung held nothing, their pockets were empty too.
Dongmin only held the camera, his pocket only had a handkerchief for his prop while asking the boys nonsensical questions. When laugh erupted from the boys, he changed his focus. Next, he looked for the oldest member of the band.
Chanwook was nowhere to be found. Perhaps, it was him who pulled the prank?
Impossible. Chanwook was the quietest member but he was unexpectedly extra quiet that day. He was one of the most mischievous member – I mean, all of them were – but he would not go to the extend where it related to something negative in their job.
He called one of the stylist and asked, “do you see Chanwook hyung?”
The stylist answered, “he’s there.” She pointed at a direction, showing Chanwook was sitting and was having a snack with his legs crossed, eyes stared blankly at the ground. To be honest, Han was not surprised to see a packet of snack in his hand. When a manager called him, he jumped. Eyebrows raised as he responded with a “yeah?!”
Han saw Chanwook and the manager began to talk. As if an important matter was told, Chanwook nodded his hand and off to somewhere.
The leader looked around again as his arm stretched to take his phone. As he was about to click the home button, another call from the same number rang his phone. Eyebrows creased, he pressed the lock button for a few seconds and opted to shut it down.
‘Creepy,’ he thought. Maybe, sasaeng fans were more advanced nowadays. They could hack anyone’s phone and unblocked their own phone number. Who knew?
Han thought that he should start looking for a new phone with stronger security. He hoped that type of phone existed. Or he would buy more new sim cards to avoid sasaeng fans from bothering him.
He had a smart plan. The old sim card would be given for business matter and new sim card for private matter. He smiled at his plan.
Legs crossed and back leant on the chair, he let out a sigh and continued to read his novel
