I adjusted my sitting position and slightly squared up. Screams and shouts of people around surrounded my ears. Clap of feet hitting the steel we were sitting on and of course the giggles of a few girls. I looked at the other women who were below us and they were slightly twitching as if they were very excited by what they were seeing.
I crossed my arms before sitting up again. There are still people who turn to me as if they want to approach me and get to know me, but they don't do anything but just pass me by because now I can't give them a smile on their face. I know my eyebrows will meet, I love my smile now and I don't want them to smile especially because I know it will be fake in their eyes.
"Your eyebrows are welcome again. What's your problem in life?" I heard Magen ask.
I winced when I looked at Magen who was now smiling like a dog. He was wearing the usual white t-shirt and only khaki shorts but even though he was wearing something simple, he still grabbed the attention of a few women.
I looked at him annoyed before tearing his hair because he was grinning even more.
"Rapha is coming?" I raised my eyebrows in question.
Because Mint told me before the game started so I couldn't do anything but frown the whole time I was sitting here. He shook his head before shrugging as he sat next to me as usual with a silly smile still on his lips. I washed my face with my palm. Good thing I'm well dressed anyway! It's annoying because Magen likes to hit!
He shrugged "He didn't say he was going. He told me he's not sure! So, stop glaring at me like I'm the one who broke your heart into pieces," he said with a smile.
He even reached for my bottled water. I just glared at him, he smirked and raised an eyebrow at me. He waved what he was holding in the air as if to say that his arm was shaking because of what he was holding, so I immediately accepted it.
"If you can say words like that it's like we have an ex or have a past. One sided love, hello," I returned sarcastically.
He patted my head and grinned "You're still too young like you used to be that's why,"
I grinned before pulling my side bangs "It's not like I was still young at that time when I developed feeling towards him, it doesn't mean that he's required to hurt me," over and over again.
I felt the pain drawing in my chest again like a lightning that never stops drawing in the dark sky.
"At least that pain made you stronger. Look at you now! If you didn't care about your appearance before, now you have a colorful face," he said proudly.
He even pointed to my face with makeup before grinning at me.
He was right because of the pain he caused me I learned to be strong. I learned to take care of myself. I learned to appreciate more who I am.
"Thanks to him," I mouthed. "What color color on the face. It's called make up. Makeup!" I said laughing as I pointed to the face.
It's not that thick!
I immediately stood up because I had been waiting here for a while. If Magen's brother wasn't the only one playing on the court earlier, I might have gone home earlier.
"Oh! Where are you going?! We're going to eat outside!" he panicked.
Annoyed, I pulled my hair, I even poked my tongue in my cheek and looked at him irritated.
I wanted to face him "We've been here for a while, Magen! Come on, tell your brother that we're leaving. Why is it that I still have a young man like you that takes you so long to act," I complained. "Look at that!" I pointed to Mint who was now simply holding a woman's arm. "They've been fighting since the end of their game. Would it be good if the noise here wasn't deafening," I complained again.
He chuckled "You know you still have a hot head. How is that Kaela Yves who doesn't care about other people's lives?" he raised an eyebrow at me before pulling me back to sitting.
"I'm not interfering, I'm just saying my opinion on what I see. I do have freedom of speech, Magen. So I have the right to say what I want, and I'm stating a fact. So, why not?" I returned to him.
He stared blankly before taking out his cellphone as if he was fed up with what I was saying. Well, I just want to show him that I have the right to say what I want to say, and there's nothing wrong with what I said, right? I just told the truth that Mint has been having trouble for a while! So we had to wait even longer.
"What? Aren't we going to approach Mint from the bottom?" I teach in the court. "We can get closer so we can leave. What do you think?" I smiled at him.
He massaged the sensation for a moment before lazily looking away. Maybe if other women saw Magen's look at me, their panties would probably have fallen off. This Magen is so handsome that sometimes I wonder why I didn't just fall for him? Why isn't he the only one I loved?
"Just go," he pushed me away. "It's just you, your voice is irritating, but it won't obey me when it comes to his chicks. Go see if he will wean you," he challenged.
He turned back to his cellphone. So I couldn't do anything but stand up and go down to the bleachers with a burning head. I still heard someone whistling when I took my last step and I almost fell because of my mistake. I'm not too short! Well, boys are boys.
I didn't pay attention to them, instead I put my elbow on the railing and put both hands on both of my cheeks.
"Mint!" I shouted. "Mint!" I shouted again without him hearing. "Mint! What! One!" like my mother screamed.
He immediately turned to my behavior. I blinked when he waved at me as if his brother didn't wait for us.
He smiled and approached "Hello, Kaela!" he greeted before squeezing my cheek.
I immediately patted his hand so he snorted a little. I looked at his companions who also approached us. I was a little embarrassed because I had the attention of a few people.
"Oh! Bro, you should introduce us! Does that guy have a boyfriend? Maybe you can seduce me," said the one wearing the number 7 jersey with a smile.
His hair is still a bit messy and his body is sweaty. What is this? Don't they know that I'm almost a few years older than them?
"Ops, no, Bro. It's not possible! I'm going to hide from my brother's friend. By the way, she's Kaela and Kaela this is Loz," Mint pointed out to the one wearing jersey number 7.
I would like to ask who is his brother's friend? but he held out his hand, before grinning at me. From the way he grinned I knew he was a playboy. Well, I'm not judging right away, but that's what my instinct tells me.
"Loz Marasigan," he introduced himself before winking at me.
I smiled "Kaela Fernivilla," I briefly introduced myself before accepting her outstretched hand.
"Oh! Bro, stop it," Mint snapped at his friend noticing that he didn't want to let go of my hand.
One of his teammates was about to speak but I already preceded them. I don't want to stay here any longer!
"What, Mint? Your brother Magen and I have been waiting for you for a while! For Pete's sake! Stop flirting!" I turned to him irritated.
My senses were massaged as I watched him whisper to the woman next to him because of her slight giggles. Seriously? Still fighting in front of us?
"Bro's, I need to go now. Besides, I'm going to join the celebration again because my brother just came back from Canada," said Mint.
He waved before jumping over the railings that were blocking it.
"Aren't you going to introduce us to your brother, Bro?" Someone on his team said with a smile.
I immediately felt Mint's hand on my waist so I immediately elbowed him.
"Hell no," Mint answered before pulling me back.
I watched him lead the way towards his older brother who was standing and talking to someone on his cell phone. I wonder if he is talking to Rapha?
Is he really going or is Mint just fooling me with what he said earlier before the game started? What if he really goes?
I immediately felt a sweat on my forehead. Seriously? He's not even here yet but I'm already sweating what if he's really here?
"Hey, Kaela! Why are you eating so fast and then you're just going to be stupid? Did you have a stroke, Kaela? Yuhu!" Mint shouted with laughter.
I looked up at his neighbor, Magen, who was also watching my stupidity. I was in the first bleachers while they were in the fourth. I even heard the laughter of a few people so my nose grew longer. I quickly ran to them. I was going to hit him because he hid behind Magen. Spoiled brat!
"It's sister Kaela, Mint. Be respectful anyway," I almost froze at the voice I heard.
I still left my hand in the air that was afraid of Mint. I have been swallowing one after another and I can feel my knees shaking immediately. Even though I didn't turn to the source of the voice, I knew exactly who it was from. Sweat begins to bead on my forehead.
I stared at him walking in slow motion. His two hands were still in the pockets of his black slacks. He was only wearing a white long sleeve polo shirt that was folded up to his elbows. It looks like he just got home from work and is coming straight here. I also looked at his muscular arm. So does he still go to the gym? The compliments seemed to be applauding him when he slowly moistened his red lips. It's like I'm in a fashion show again and he's the one on the rampage. I knew my eyes were full of wonder again so I immediately looked away. I couldn't look him in the eye because I knew it was... dangerous.
"Breathe, Kaela." Magen whispered, bringing me back from my trance.
I let out a deep breath before completely lowering the hand that was in the air. So, he really is here, huh?
"I thought you would come home next week? You're early," he said in a cold voice.
Magen shrugged "It's not too early," was his only reply.
They were still talking about some things but my thoughts flew away at the same time as my heart flew.
I looked at him who was now in front of me. If I hadn't stopped myself, I might have gone back earlier. Thank you self! But even so, my heart still couldn't stop pounding, especially when I smelled his masculine scent. I clenched my fist to stop my eyes from closing. Even though it was difficult and discouraging, I looked at his tilted face. He looks like a prince! Prince that I will never be the princess.
I winced at my own thoughts because they turned to me. He gave me the cold gaze that I immediately avoided. The way he looked at me was as if I was staring at a very cold ice but I could still feel the burning fire that when I looked at him I would really melt.
"Come on! Come on, Mint is hungry, she's been running around the court for a while now!" Magen said before walking with his brother.
I gave him a bad look, so he simply gave a peace sign and snorted at Rapha who I could see in my peripheral view looking at me.
What will he find something to criticize me for?
"Yes!" Mint's support felt that Rapha and I had no intention of talking. "I've been hungry for a while," he said.
I talked to myself that I shouldn't act like this in front of him! We don't have a past! I'm the only one who has feelings for him. I used to follow him again and again but he kept pushing me away. What should I expect from him? Nothing. Because just like me who doesn't care about other people's lives, he also doesn't care about my feelings.
That truth really hurts.
"Let's go," Rapha said to the brothers before turning away from us.
He didn't even manage to say hello or even talk to me. I'm not the kind of person that when he talks to me, other people will look at him like he's crazy. The strange pain in my chest drew again because until now he could... He could still ignore me. He can still hurt me effortlessly.
A few years ago, I was able to increase my confidence. I managed to steady myself but now he is here again discouraging me.
He met the new me, the woman with stunning with the heart but why could it be now a broken piece of heart?
